November 9th, 2016 was a day of mixed emotions for the United States of America. I saw tears, I saw fear, and I saw anxiety. The electoral decision affected every person not only in the US, but around the world, and knowing that so many people were suffering made me want to help. The problem? I didn't know how. After hours of thinking, I realized what it was that people needed: a drop of hope and a hint of happiness. This is why I decided to put together a list of good/happy things that also happened November 9th, so that those frowns and tears would see the brightness of life again.
1. Around 353,000 babies were born on November 9th!
2. Assumption College Baseball team "drafts" a child with a heart disease and makes his dreams come true.
3. Director David Yates announced the return of Albus Dumbledore in the future sequel of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".
4. On this day in 1953, Cambodia gained its independence from France.
5. The 15th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall (Ironic....)
6. AND the National World Freedom Day.
7. After months of struggle, Brad Pitt was finally cleared from his child abuse accusations!
8. New York Police Officers rescued Jamie, a friendly Pit Bull, from abuse & even dedicated their day to show her some love!
9. An implant has been created, at Lausane University in Switzerland, to help paralyzed monkeys regain movement!
10. On this day in 1921, Albert Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.
11.There are now four women of color in the American Senate, as opposed to only one for the past term.
12. A World War II airman is helping soldiers who return from war recover from the emotional and psychological effects of it by giving them service dogs. His efforts already produced a very touching success story!
13. Russell Brand´s wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
14. Guaranteed, someone you know received positive, life changing news.
15. The sun shined in the morning :) (Thank you President Obama)
Although it was a day of fear and worry, it is always important to remember that nothing is black or white. Some days, we may have a tendency to go in one direction, and in others we shift the opposite way, but that doesn't mean we cant find our balance halfway. There is one thing everyone in this planet has in common, and it is that we are all human. As humans, it is our responsibility to not only take care of ourselves and the people we love physically, but also emotionally. How can we do it when we ourselves are angry and negative? With that in mind, we have to understand that it is necessary to express our worries and talk them out to avoid getting overwhelmed, but its just as needed to stay positive and see the light at the end of the tunnel.
