College is both a rewarding and stressful time for many teenagers and twenty-somethings alike. Trying to balance school with other commitments and a social life can be brutal. Sometimes you really feel like you have your life together, only to have those thoughts derailed by something minute. Truth be told, though, no adult actually has any idea what they're doing, and we all experience the same things.

1. Reading the syllabus on the first day of class and pondering how you're going to procrastinate all of these projects and papers...

You'll probably construct an elaborate schedule to ensure you complete every assignment on time...and break it by the second week of class.

2. Shortly thereafter, the automatic response to every students's questions becomes "It's on the syllabus."

Legend has it the answer to the meaning of life resides somewhere in the "Attendance Policy" paragraph.

3. When the professor suggests you introduce yourself and share one of your interests with your classmates...

You won't get your money's worth out of the class unless you know what Kyle did over winter break.

4. Any time you answer a question correctly and have your thought process called into question...

Maybe you read it in the syllabus.

5. Laughing hysterically at your professor's dad jokes because you need to pass his class...

Sacrifice your dignity now and become a wolf among sheep when final grades are calculated.

6. When the professor claims buying the textbook is imperative if you want to pass...

To be fair, the syllabus does mention a two-page reading assignment next month.

7. Waking up to a class cancellation email...

Now you have 48 more hours to procrastinate that essay and find out what fruit you are on Buzzfeed!

8. When your stress level is through the roof but you're trying to keep cool...

At this rate no amount of emotional eating or binge watching can stop Blurryface from taking over.

9. Trying to sound intelligent when writing a paper when you clearly don't know what you're talking about...

This may include but is not limited to: eliminating contractions to increase the word count, forcing philosophical meanings out of simple topics, and ultimately just making things up.

10. Seeing people riding their hoverboards to get to class...

You're not sure whether to feel jealous of them or embarrassed for them. At least you're getting your exercise, right?

11. Your desperate attempt to stay fueled for the day...

How are you supposed to eat when you have three straight classes? Without shame, anything is possible.

12. When you're ready to take on the beast that is finals week...

You'll look back with pride on the night you studied for two exams and finished your English paper and only cried twice.

13. When every authority figure in your life questions how you can possibly wait until the last minute for an assignment and still get an A...

Motivation is abundant when your future rests on whether or not you can drink enough coffee to survive one more all-nighter.

14. When the semester and your sanity begin to wind down...

By now, you're spending more time staring at the calendar on your phone than on your appearance in the morning. Put on a pair of sweats and relax. You've got this.

15. Realizing it'll be a matter of days until your friends are home and the real fun begins...

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
