15 Things All Baylor Students Are Guilty Of

During welcome week and throughout my first year at Baylor, I heard and saw so many things that made me do a double take. Now as a junior, I caught myself saying and doing some of these. I'm afraid that after graduation, I'm going to try to take some of my Baylor things into the workplace. Not everyone bleeds green and gold.

1. Using "sic 'em" as a response to any and everything.

We do this too much. "Hey I got an A on my test!" "Nice, sic 'em!"

2. "I had a chapel Ryan sighting today."

3. Using the word "bear" in everything they/we can.

Airbear. Bearweb. Bearbucks. The list can go on.

4. "I've seen 3 proposals this year."

5. Deciding between going to Scruffs or going to bed early enough to go to church the next day.

I know plenty of people who do this. Don't deny it.

6. "Which one is Lady and which one is Joy again?

7. Feeling like you're making a drug deal every time you do a Free and For Sale exchange.

8. Falling down while running the line.

I'm pretty sure I still have a scar from freshman year.

9. Explaining to your non-Baylor friends what Dia is.

"Yeah it's just this day we don't have class and we have a petting zoo and concerts?"

10. "I finally got a pic with Kenny."

11. That magical moment when you and the person you're with both land a tortilla while tortilla tossing.

Start planning your wedding.

12. "I can't, I have SING practice."

13. "I can't. I'm going to SING."

14. Having such a small campus that you awkwardly smile at that girl you hung out with one time freshman year.

For the next three years.

15. "It's still P-nasty."

Because us upperclassmen need something to be snobby about. We can also talk about how we know what it was like before McLane Stadium or the 5th Street fountain.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
