Daaamn college, back at it again with the midterms. No sleep, 12 cups of coffee, late library sessions; please make it stop. Midterms are basically a reminder that you’re halfway through the semester and that you need to get your sh*t together. Sounds fun, right? Not really. Cramming a whole bunch of homework, papers and studying is exhausting. Balancing extracurricular activities on top of it all is even more exhausting. No wonder why college students are basically walking zombies.

When midterms roll around, we all hop on the struggle bus. But always remember: no matter how stressful, tiring and frustrating it can be, hard work pays off. Here are 14 thoughts you may have when you’re studying for your midterm.

1. I need to stop procrastinating.

Procrastination station is my favorite stop. But I can’t stay there too long.

2. Professor said the test is cumulative. Rude.

You’re tellin’ me that I have to know everything from the beginning of the semester up until now? Bye, Felicia.

3. Ok. When did we ever learn this?

No really! When?! Did I miss something?

4. A quick study break won’t hurt me.

Studying for more than five minutes calls for a 20 minute break. Then we start all over again.

5. I’m hungry.

But then again, when am I not?

6. Stress eating calories don’t count.

They just don’t, okay?!

7. Maybe I’ll take a nap.

And by nap, I mean sleep until tomorrow. Don’t wake me up.

8. *Scrolls on Facebook and Instagram*

Because I really need to see who posted a new pic of their food.

9. I need coffee. Even though it gives me anxiety.

How am I supposed to get through studying without any caffeine? Is that even possible?

10. Whatever, I’m anxious enough as it is.

One cup of coffee can’t hurt.

11. Who needs sleep? LOL JK, I do.

If I don’t get my eight hours, I’ll be a witch. No all-nighters for me.

12. Counting down the days until summer.

Which reminds me, I need to download the Countdown app.

13. I need my bed. My bed needs me.

It’s calling my name. Sorry bae, I’ll be there soon.

14. What was I doing again? Oh yeah, studying.

Just a reminder: If you didn't do as well as you wanted to on your midterm, that's okay! It's only one test and you'll do better next time. Don't beat yourself up over it. Good luck!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
