Growing up with sisters has its pros and cons. Screaming, crying, pulling hair, stealing clothing, sharing bedrooms, and inside jokes are just some of the things that people who grew up without sisters will never understand. Sisters have that special bond that no one can break, but the ability to ruin each others days in one sitting. To all the girls who grew up with sisters, this one is for you.

1. The morning bathroom struggle.

Being close in age to your siblings is sometimes a bitch. Especially when there are two teenage girls living under one roof and have 40 minutes to get ready for school. Screaming, crying, pushing, and shoving ensued.

2. "She's touching me."

Whether you were touching her or not, this phrase was a staple between sisters. Car rides, sharing the couch, or standing in line, someone always uttered, "She's touching me!"

3. When someone tells you that your sister is hot.

When she started to grow up, boys began to notice. This was something you chose to ignore and were completely annoyed with.

4. Best friends one minute, worst enemies the next.

One minute you might be sitting on the couch laughing and chatting, but the next you might be screaming your heads of about something that happened on March 12, 2007, when she wore your shoes and looked at you funny.

5. Always knowing who was in the bathroom last.

You could always tell who had taken the last shower or who was going out that night based on the product on the counter and the amount of hair left on the shower walls.

6. "I barely touched you."

This translated to "I just smacked the sh*t out of you and I'll kill you if you tell mom," and was usually accompanied by crying, a welt or both.

7. Finding sneaky ways to be rude to each other.

Finding a new and silent way to be hateful around your parents was an art form. Whether it's a unique way to flip someone the bird or a way to tell them to screw off, you were a master.

8. Seeing her leave the house in your clothes.

"Is that my shirt? Take off my shirt you brat."

*panicked screaming*

*running through house*

9. Blackmail.

Promising never to tell your parents was something you always agreed to, but it obviously came at a small price.

10. When your parents take your side in an argument.

There was nothing more rewarding than the look of defeat on your sister's face when your parents picked your side and defended you in an argument.

11. Matching outfits.

Matching. Sweaters. Everywhere.

12. Endless questions.

"Why?"

"What for?"

"Can I go?"

"Are those your friiiiiends?"

13. Having a best friend for life.

No matter the fights or the trials, your sister is your best friend for life. You have a built in partner-in-crime, a road trip buddy, a confidant, and a secret keeper. She will forever be your best friend.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
