14 Stages Of A Girls Night Out

GNOs are good for the soul, but terrible for your feet the next day.

14 Stages Of A Girls Night Out

Ahhh, Girls Nights Out - or another wise referred to as a GNO (thanks, Miley!) Girls nights out are their own form of going out. Completely different from the usual going out scene, a GNO is all about you and your girls. They typically happen when one of your girlfriends or yourself is hurt and/or upset about something - not all the time though, GNOs are good for the soul. I know it, you know it, we all know it. Whenever there is a GNO, you know for certain that something is going to happen. But Girls Nights Out are fun because you focus on yourselves and who you are as independent women and take the world by storm in your killer shoes while looking hot af. You know things are going to go down on a GNO, and from my experience, most girls nights typically follow in this fashion

1. Setting up the Pregame Playlist

Setting up the pregame playlist is one of the most crucial parts to any night out. It literally sets the tone for the rest of the night. This just gives you and your girls another reason to get together and get excited for a night out while picking the best music to get drunk to.

2. Pre Preparation Shots

This is the shot that you all take right before you start to get ready. Maybe it's because you all started getting ready too late and need to catch up, or maybe it's just a good way to start getting ready. Now, I'm not talking about getting plastered before going out because we all know doing makeup drunk is like a toddler trying their mothers makeup for the first time... just never a good outcome.

3. Getting Ready

This is the hardest part about a GNO. What do you wear? How do you do your makeup? What shoes look best, heels or sandals? Do you really want to wear heels? But the look soooooooo much better with the outfit!

This part of a GNO can literally range anywhere from an hour to at least four, and you're lying if you say otherwise.

4. Pregaming

This can either be the best or worst part of the night. You either have enough time before you go out that you can cherish your drinks and take your time with it while hanging with your friends... or you have about 30 minutes to get at least tipsy to enjoy the dodgy club that you're going to and to put up with the shady guys that will no doubt be coming up to chat you and your girls up. Either way, the music is blaring, the shots are being poured and you're probably regretting whatever liquor you chose for the night.

5. Dreading going out

This usually follows your fourth or fifth shot/drink and this is when the alcohol starts to hit... along with the regret. For one your stomach is probably uneasy as hell and then you're probably not looking forward to being sweaty, talked up by creepy guys and then keeping track of all your girls. This is a very critical part of the night and it usually ends with one of your girlfriends being dragged out of the house (aka me).

6. Being forced to go out

... that gif is a pretty self explanatory and accurate presentation of how my friends have to drag me out of the house whenever I start to dread leaving. I'm probably not the only one.... hopefully.

7. Hype AF Uber ride

99% of the time, the uber ride to wherever you're going is going to be lit. They'll either be playing bomb music or they'll pass you and your friends the aux and for real, s*** is about to go down.

8. Getting to the club

You finally make it to the club, and you and your crew half walk half stumble into the club like you own the place. There is literally no feeling more empowering than walking into the club with your girls behind you. You feel like you're Beyoncé walking onto her stage and it is the absolute best.

9. Getting Lit AF

You've settling into a good spot with your girls and the night is just starting. The music is pounding, the drinks are pouring (if you're lucky enough to be 21) and you're at peak drunkness. You know what I'm talking about. When you're at that right point where everything is more fun and you're so much more social but you're not crying in the club bathroom about that stupid boy just yet. You're pretty much invincible at this point.

10. Staying at the club till 3:30 am but have no clue where your friends are

It's the end of the night. You're tired, you're sweaty, you're still drunk but no longer the fun drunk and you're friends are all over the place. One is in the bathroom throwing up, one is talking to some guy that she'll definitely regret talking to if you don't break that up right now, and one is outside already calling an Uber waiting for you to round everyone up. If you've never been the one to round up the friends, let's just say its about as easy as rounding up toddles who just woke up from a nap and are now currently on a messier sugar high.

11. Uber ride back

The Uber ride back is always much more boring than the ride there. First of all, you're all dead tired and probably smell like butt too. The Uber driver is probably in just as bad a mood because it's almost 4 in the morning and they've been driving drunk people home all night and are probably terrified that someone is going to puke in their car - if someone hasn't already.

That gif is also every girls makeup after a night at the club.

12. Getting home and having another energy rush

You all get back, change into your pj's and then you all get another burst of energy. You watch your drunken snapchats, play some more music and reminisce about the night. This is also where anyone who did something stupid finds out about it. You all also pass out at various different times in various different places around your place in various different positions.

13. Waking up the next day and immediately regretting it

No matter the type of hangover you get, chances are that after a GNO you're going to be regretting that 11th shot of brunettes you took or that vodka and redbull some guy bought you at the club. This is also when you watch your snapchat story for the first time sober and mentally cringe at some of the things you did. I say mentally because it hurts too much to actually physically cringe

14. Hangover Brunch

This is one of the best parts about a night out. Taking stock of everything over a nice breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner... really whenever you're able to all wakeup and feel good enough to present yourself to the public. You look over everything about the night before with your girls and laugh about the dumb thing that one of your friends did - or maybe that was you. We've all been there... there's no shame.

So enjoy your girls night out. It's good for your soul.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
