Everyone knows her name and there is a reason for that: she's flawless. Okay, maybe flawless is an exaggeration because nobody is perfect. However, Beyoncé is special: she is a successful black female and mother who practically runs the music industry. Not only that, but she is a genuine human being. Somehow, someone so rich, famous, and beautiful is also relatable to a simple girl like me. Beyoncé's music has pulled people (like me) out of dark places and empowered us when we needed some inspiration. With this article, I am not trying to tell you to become Beyoncé and abandon your uniqueness. What I am saying is to learn how to be a confident female and Bey is the perfect example of one for all the following reasons and more:

1. She is a phenomenal dancer

She knows how to move her body. She can be soft, sexual, and sensual , and best of all, she doesn't care what critics think of her moves.

2. She embraces her femininity

She has never let being a female keep her from succeeding. If anything, Beyoncé is teaching the world that being a female is a good thing.

3. The state of Minnesota created a holiday celebrating her

Dude... I want my own holiday.

4. She is a mom and is still the most powerful female in the music industry

Not only is she a mother, she loves and cares for her daughter. Blue Ivy does not take a back seat to her mom's career, and yet she is still one of the most well-known artists in the world.

5. She has received 53 GRAMMY nominations and won 20

Beyoncé is the female who has been nominated for the most GRAMMY awards... 53 nominations and 20 GRAMMY awards. Just let that sink in.

6. Beyoncé has served as a voice for all girls, especially black females

She knows that she serves as a voice for those who may not be strong enough to speak up and Beyoncé doesn't take that responsibility lightly.

7. Beyoncé doesn't apologize for who she is, she embraces it

Well, she runs the world. There is nothing more to say.

8. Nobody messes with Bey

If anyone has messed with her, they regret it.

9. She and Jay Z are the power couple

Together, they serve as great role models.

10. Beyonce is friends with the first family

I would do anything for the first lady to give me a warm hug like that.

11. She embraces her curves and doesn't skinny shame

She embraces her body without putting down girls who come in different shapes and sizes. Essentially, she loves all body types and wants us to as well.

12. Her backup dancers are a diverse group of girls

Did you know that her dancers are all different sizes, colors, and originate from different countries?

13. Beyonce was able to overcome depression

In 2000, according to Buzzfeed, Beyoncé was depressed after Destiny's Child broke up. She said that she didn't even eat. Now look at her, she is a mother, performer, and seems happy

14. She actually loves what she does

It's not all about the money, what a great way to live life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
