Huffington Post

Everyone always says, “You have to watch this show, it’s so good!” But let’s be honest, you probably won’t watch it because you have your own Netflix agenda. But I’m here to tell you in ~extremely reliable~, article format that these 14 shows are in fact very addicting. So make time this summer to watch a couple of these classics. There are shows for all types of TV lovers on this list, so I’m sure at least one of these will be your next big binge.

1. How I Met Your Mother

This is such a classic. Even if you don’t think it’s your kind of show, I promise you will relate to one of the characters in it. The basis is that the main character, Ted, is telling his children all the stories and adventures leading up to the moment he met their mother. It’s full of humor, love, and Neil Patrick Harris playing a ladies man. It won’t disappoint.

2. Gilmore Girls

If you are looking for an easy, laid back show, watch this one. It’s about a small town mother and daughter and their life of friend, boy, and family problems. Whether you like the actual storyline or just making fun of their straight from the late 90’s fashion choices, this show will make you warm and fuzzy. 10/10 recommend.

3. The Office

Everything about this show is hilarious. If you somehow haven’t watched this, you need to. It’s a show, about a documentary being filmed, but the humor and relationships set the show so much higher than any other “dry sense of humor” type of show. It has 9 long seasons and an amazing cast. You will understand so many more references after you watch this.

4. Shameless

This one is pretty popular too. It’s about a dysfunctional family living on the south side of Chicago, and all the sh** they get themselves into. You might fall in love with a character, you might just watch it to make yourself feel better about your own issues in life. Either way, it’s addicting.

5. Grey’s Anatomy

I know everyone talks about how great Grey’s is, and you probably “aren’t a medical show type person”, but suck it up and start this series. Grey’s is so much more than a medical drama. It’s one of those shows you have to just give a chance and you will become addicted, because by the end of season 1 you will have an indefinite list of your favorite characters, ranked.

6. Parks and Rec.

Another hilarious and referenceable show that you need to watch if you want to be able to socialize successfully (sarcasm, kind of). Trust me, there’s a reason for all the hype.

7. New Girl

This show is hilarious and all too relatable at times. You’ll finish this in a couple days and catch yourself singing the theme song 24/7. Even if Jess, the female lead, annoys you, watch it for Schmidt. (watch the show to get the reference)

8. Breaking Bad

For me, this show was like the car crash you can’t stop watching. Everyone knows it’s about crystal meth, but to fully understand the addiction (haha) behind the show, you’ll just have to watch it.

9. 13 Reasons Why

This show is still a touchy subject for people, having just been released. But to form your own opinion of it, you need to watch it. Unless you live under a rock, you probably know it’s about a girl who commits suicide, and leaves tapes telling why. It will definitely take you less than a week, because once you start it, you have to know what’s next.

10. Criminal Minds

This show is for the crime lovers out there. If you want your night to be filled with murders and abductions, watch this. The cast is amazing and hello, Shemar Moore??

11. Stranger Things

This is a relatively new show. It’s sci-fi enough to be interesting to the science lovers as well as those not crazy about it. It’s definitely addicting.

12. One Tree Hill

Another laid back, sitting in the hammock with your laptop, kind of show. It’s very “high school love” and all that entails, but it’s one you’ll become attached to. Give it a chance.

13. Gossip Girl

This show will make you want to move to New York City and find a rich, hot boyfriend like Chuck Bass. It’s filled with so much drama, but hey, who doesn’t love watching fictional characters’ lives fall apart?

14. Friends

You didn’t think I’d forget this one did you? This show is very easy on the heart, perfect to watch during the summer. You’ll get attached to the characters just like How I Met Your Mother, and that’s not a bad thing. This one is a must.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
