Ah, Paris Geller: The most motivated, hardworking, and straightforward person on Gilmore Girls. She also happened to be one of my favorite characters on the show. While many of the characters in Stars Hallow seem to think she's mean and cruel, I have always admired her ambition and drive. She is a girl who knows what she wants and will do anything to achieve her goals. She is also straightforward, strong, sarcastic, and, at times, vulnerable. It's those traits that make Paris Geller one of the most relatable characters in television. Here are thirteen times I've related to and, have been, Paris Geller in 2017.

1. When I watched Obama welcome Trump into the White House and felt completely helpless:

2. When an old man told me to smile last week on the subway:

3. When I attempted to enjoy the warm abnormally warm weather in Boston but then remembered our current president doesn't believe in climate change:

4. When I got an email from my school's health center telling me there has been an increase in flu cases on campus:

5. When I'm watching TV and Kellyanne Conway suddenly appears:

6. When I hear Mike Pence talk about reproductive rights:

7. When someone asks why I would let my political views get in way of romantic relationships:

8. When the senators who confirmed Devos showed up to work the next day:

9. When Elizabeth Warren was barred from speaking on the Senate Floor by Republicans:

10. When people tried to tell me to 'give Trump a chance':

11. When I read through Facebook after the Women's March, saw all the people complaining about it, and was even more motivated to keep up the resistance:

12. When someone who voted for Trump says, "This wasn't what I voted for":

13. When Trump signs any executive order:

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
