I didn't choose the tall life, the tall life chose me

13 Things That Happen When You're Tall
New Scientist

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me I was tall, I could pay for college, a nice car, and a trip around the world. Being tall is something you grow to accept and tend to forget about, until you are kindly reminded of it throughout the day.

I've got 99 problems, but being short isn't one of them.

1. You Are Constantly Asked How Tall You Are

No one says, "Hi, how are you?" anymore without inquiring about your height and then reminding you how tall you are.

2. People Assume You Played Basketball Or Volleyball

If you're tall you may or may not play one of those sports, and congratulations if you're good at them! Some taller people are actually quite clumsy and we end up running into corners of things or tripping over our own long legs. It's not fun.

3. Clothes And Shoe Shopping Are The Worst

Finding pants that are long enough is like finding a needle in a haystack. When it happens, you cherish those pants for life. Don't even ask about dresses. Some of those could be considered shirts. And shoes? Good luck finding a cute pair in your size.

4. You're Always In The Back For Group Photos

Never have I ever been asked to stand in the front for a picture. it's always tall people in the back. What if I want to be in the front for once? Pictures either involve standing in the back and/or crouching down to fit into the frame.

5. A Giraffe Is Your Spirit Animal

This needs no explanation. Giraffes are tall, graceful creatures, just like you.

6. You're Told You're Too Tall To Wear Heels

When shorter people wear heels, no one bats an eye. When someone over the average height wears heels, they get told to take them off because they're already tall enough without them. Calm your insecurities short people and let me live.

7. You Have The Superior View

Lets face it, you can see everything. No one can block your view. You are the view. However, I do judge people based on the top of their heads more frequently than I'd like.

8. Sadly, You're Too Tall To Be A Disney Princess

Want to be a princess at Disney? Sorry, if you're over 5'10" that's not going to happen. Is there such thing as discrimination against those of over average height?

9. Having Enough Leg Room Is A Daily Issue

Having long legs is both a blessing and a curse. Don't expect me to be able to sit in the back seat of a car comfortably. In fact, sitting anywhere comfortably is a struggle. Beds? Yeah, your legs are sometimes too long. The point to this is, that I've learned to make myself shorter

10. Ducking Under Tree Limbs Is A Thing

Trees are supposed to be tall, correct? Then, why do I find myself ducking to avoid a tree limb to the face?

11. Walking With People Shorter Than You Is A Struggle

Not everyone has long legs, and I get that, but having to slow down to a turtles pace to match those shorter than you is a struggle. When you walk your normal pace, they end up running in order to keep up with you. I'm constantly told to slow down. Don't make a tall person suffer here.

12. Your Height Intimidates Others

When people first meet you, your height is the first thing noticed and it can be intimidating to those shorter. I can admit however, that If I have to look down on you, chances are you don't scare me

13. Everyone Wishes They Were As Tall As You

As sweet as this is, no you don't. Don't get me wrong, I love my height, I do, but sometimes it's tiring. There's not a day that goes by that I am not reminded of how tall I am. But then again, being tall is a beautiful thing. Hating your height wont make you any shorter, you were born to stand out, be proud.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
