With five-minutes left of your favorite show, the clock is ticking as one minute closer to the end is a minute closer to feeling the pain of a season finale. We all have a No. 1 show we look forward to watching every season. But when the dreaded season finale comes, we can easily fall into an emotional state. With the end of the spring season, numerous season finales are taking place until the new summer shows start to premiere. Until then, fans of shows will have to go through this 13 step process until they can sit on the couch with their favorite snack (or two) and watch the new season of their favorite show.

1. Sit in shock.

2. Analyze the entire episode. Shocker after shocker.

3. Feel emotional sadness that the show is over.

4. Quickly check online to make sure the series is renewed.

5. Get excited that it was renewed for another season.

6. Or become overwhelmingly sad that it was canceled.

7. Analyze the whole series.

8. Follow all the main actors, actresses, producers, writers and directors of the show on social media to hope someone teases a spoiler of the upcoming season.

9. Get distracted by watching the show that took the place of your favorite show.

10. Get emotionally invested and attached to the new show.

11. Watch the season finale of this new show.

12. Repeat steps 1-10.

13. Get excited that life can be great again now that it’s time for the first favorite show to come back on!

Hmm. Maybe not everyone does this. Someone tell me I’m not the only one who goes through these (very) emotional stages.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
