Like many college students, I find myself indulging in multiple episodes of shows on Netflix even though I tell myself, "Just one episode. You're never going to get enough sleep if you do more than one." Knowing what happens next in a series is (usually) worth the lack of sleep. I mean, how can I sleep anyway if I'm left with a cliffhanger? The sad thing is, sometimes the cliffhangers will never be resolved. Shows get canceled, and there is nothing we can do about it. These are the stages you go through when you find that your Netflix show has been canceled as told be the characters of Sense8.
1. Shock
This is the initial stage in which you frantically search for a calendar to check if this is some sick April Fool's joke. When you find that it is not a joke, you are in complete and utter shock.
2. Anger
You've committed too much time for Netflix to do this to you. There's no way you can get those hours spent watching the show back. AT LEAST TELL ME HOW IT ENDS!
3. Sadness
Suddenly, the reality hits you. After the last episode on Netflix, you realize that this will be your last time ever experiencing something new with the characters of the series. What about the couple I've been shipping all this time?!
4. Looking For Answers
Okay. Netflix is going to take away one of the reasons I look forward to the weekend. Fine. At least tell me why. Was the ratings not high enough? Did the budget get cut too low to continue the series with the same level of quality? Was there not enough people watching? I need closure.
5. Acceptance
You've found your answers, and it makes sense. You may not agree with it, but there's nothing you can do about it. Imagine how the actors and actresses felt knowing this would be their last performance as their character. The moved on, and so can you.
6. Moving On
You've gotten your answers, and you're not totally left in the dark. It's time to move on (after re-watching the series 10 more times to get it out of your system).7. Falling In Love With A New Show
It was bound to happen some time. Bye, Felicia! (I still love you though.)
