Thanksgiving is a time for being thankful for all that you have. Since Thanksgiving just recently passed and Thanksgiving break is coming to an end, I decided to ask college students from around the country what they are thankful for this year. Some of these students were unable to come home this Thanksgiving, but many others were able to make the journey home. Some traveled home for the 1st time since being moved in to their dorm, and others for the 4th or 5th time. I compiled a list of what college kids were most thankful for this Thanksgiving, and this is what I got:
1. Rest.
2. Spending the night in your own full-sized bed.
3. Receiving care packages and letters from loved ones.
4. Free food!
5. Hanging out with friends from back home.
6. Spending time in the kitchen baking cookies.
7. The teachers, coaches, family, and friends who have poured into you over the years to help you achieve your dreams and be where you are today.
8. Being able to further your education in a field that you are passionate towards.
9. Visiting with immediate and extended family.
10. Watching or attending Thanksgiving day and weekend football games.
11. Eating food made by those who love you.
12. Laughing with high school friends over all the memories you've made together.
13. The promise of Christmas break.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
