College is one of the greatest places, but there are a few things that going home on Thanksgiving break just makes you really thankful for. Here are some that you probably experienced on your break.
Crazy relatives
They yell. They cause scenes and make your grandma shake her head. Your cousins will fight over the last roll or bit of stuffing, and you’ll fight during an intense game of ta. However, you can’t wait to see them and laugh at their stories, hear what they’ve been up to, and be around the unconditional love again.
Mom’s homemade cooking
There’s just something about literally anything that is made at home—it just tastes so much better than anything you can get your hands on at school. Especially with a college student’s budget.
Sleep
This is a big one. You have been low on sleep pretty much constantly all semester, and break is the perfect time to go to bed early and sleep in as long as possible. Not to mention you finally get to go back to your own huge, comfy bed. You’re gonna need that sleep for when you go back to school for finals.
High school friends
This is the time that all high school friends (who are still close) finally have the opportunity to get back together and catch up on an entire semester's worth of stories. You’ve missed them since you had to say goodbye, and now you finally get to get back to your normal adventures and laughs.
Good water pressure
The water at school sucks. If it’s not the pressure that is bad, it’s extremely hard water that completely destroys your hair. Coming back home to good water works wonders.
No schoolwork
The work never ends in college. You constantly have a project looming over your head if you don’t have one due the next day. The break will make you thankful for the rare moments when you don’t.
College friends to come back to
I already know I am going to miss my roommates and friends from school when I’m at home, and it will make me thankful I have them to come back to.
