Thanksgiving break has come and gone, but a crucial time period is upon us before we can celebrate the most wonderful time of the year: finals week. Finals have never been my favorite thing, but I felt better when I could relate to a six year old. At least I know I'm not alone

1. First, you're in denial that Thanksgiving break is even over.

2. You get sassy when a professor/advisor suggests you set some realistic goals for the end of the semester.

3. You pretend you know what you're doing in all of your classes when in reality, you're clueless.

4. You get so overwhelmed and stressed that you fall into a permanent state of existential crisis

5. You begin to question who decided it was okay to make you an adult in the first place.

6. You take any kind of break you can from studying; even if it's for exercise.

7. You're in denial about becoming an adult, so you just pretend you're still a kid.

8. Even food can't make you feel better.

9. Then, you get that feeling of victory when you realize you're just days away from being on break...

10. ...but then you remember the 4 papers and 12 tests you have to study for.

11. And it's all going ok until your study group refuses to give you the answers to your Biology final.

12. At last! Your final test arrives, and you have to stand in front of your mirror and give yourself a motivational speech in order to drag yourself there.

13. You're finally home to hug your loved ones and have some much needed time off!!

I know this time of year is stressful, but if Calvin can do it, so can you! Best of luck on all your finals. Just think: soon enough, you'll be able to look back on it and laugh as you sit back, sipping hot chocolate in front of your Christmas tree with people you love. Happy Finals!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
