“Hamilton: An American Musical” is a Broadway musical by the genius mind of Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda not only wrote the music, book, and lyrics for “Hamilton,” but also is the original role of Alexander Hamilton. “Hamilton” is about the secretary of the treasury Alexander Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton was a founding father who came to America to educate himself. He created a reputation for himself out of nothing, due to him becoming an orphan young in life.

Alexander Hamilton’s ascent to success is an event to envy. “Hamilton” educates the audience while entertaining them. “Hamilton” has taken off like wildfire, and tickets are nearly impossible to attain. Miranda’s musical was nominated for the most awards in Tony history and won a total of 11 awards this year. Myself and many others have bought into the deserving hype this musical causes. Here's how you know, you have fallen into a "Hamilton" Hype.

1. You don’t have the time for another “fandom” right now.

- I already get six hours of sleep a night.

2. You begrudgingly realize that this is something you would enjoy, and decide to pursue it.

- But wait, it’s a musical about the 10-dollar bill guy?

3. You listen to the title song: “Alexander Hamilton.”

- “What’s your name, man?”

4. You’re hooked, and suddenly you’ve listened to the entire album.

- My world "turned upside down."

5. You fall in love with the entire original Broadway cast.

- The talent. The beauty. Perfection.

6. You don’t think you’ll find anyone else who loves “Hamilton” as much as you do.

- What do you mean, you’ve never heard of it??

7. You cry because you’ll never be able to see the original Broadway cast live…

- My #1 regret.

8. You follow Lin-Manuel Miranda on every social media platform available.

- His good morning and goodnight tweets make every single day better.

9. You sneak Hamilton references into everyday life.

- Friend: “You need to stop making ‘Hamilton’ references.”

- Me: "'You’ll be back!'"

10. You follow fan accounts on Tumblr and Twitter in order to share your obsession.

- Half of the blogs I follow post about “Hamilton"!

11. You listen to anything Lin-Manuel Miranda ever wrote.

- It is all perfectly brilliant.

12. You desperately want the “Got Hamilton?” t-shirt

-It's just so cute

13. You keep calm knowing that the original Broadway cast was filmed in the entirety, and that PBS will eventually air the documentary.

Be prepared, all of these songs will be stuck in your head for approximately the rest of your life. You will most likely attempt to rap, which may or may not be a pretty picture. Here are the stages of becoming a fan of “Hamilton.” Have fun witnessing these in yourself and others as you fall completely head over heels with it’s perfection.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
