Although you always loved the state you grew up in, the feeling of admiration really enhances when you go to a college in a different state. Some may call you basic, but you know the truth that your state is just better than all the others. No shame in that.
1. Whenever someone says anything negative about the state you are from you immediately get personally offended.
2. Every state other then yours has horrible drivers. Who knows what is going on at their DMV but clearly their standards for receiving drivers licenses are very low because they do not know how to stay in their own lane. Oh, and a turn signal? Apparently, they have never heard of one.
3. Whenever anything goes wrong in a state you aren’t from, you immediately think how it would never happen back at home. Flooding in streets after a rainstorm? Never would happen in New Jersey, we have it together over there.
4. When someone says that their state has better food, you can’t help but laugh in their face. You wish. If only you knew..
5. People start to associate you with your state because you are the typical stereotype. You don't mind it though because it is an honor and a privilege to be from that state. Besides, there are worse things to be associated with (a.k.a. being from another state).
6. You would give anything just to be in your state. You don't even need to go home just being in the state is close enough.
7. The thought of living somewhere else is preposterous. Why fix something that isn’t broken?
8. You regret the day you decided to go to school out of state. Although you love your college and wouldn’t change it for the world, sometimes you just wish your college was located in your state. That would make college 10 times better.
9. You know everything there is to know about your state so you are pretty much an expert in the subject. You know the history, best tourist spots, the state flower, etc. If it is concerning your state, you know it like the back of your hand.
10. When you are at school, you miss your state so much because everything is simply better there. The other people just do not understand.
11. You have gotten into arguments with people from other states who claim their state is better then yours. Take a seat, you don’t even know.
12. You are a die-hard sports fan for the team that represents your state. Do not even bother starting an argument over this one.
13. You did not realize how wonderful your state was until you left it.
