13 Signs That Senioritis Has Officially Taken Over

Because the last year feels longer than the past three years.

13 Signs That Senioritis Has Officially Taken Over

It's no secret that most seniors in high school come down with the very serious disease called "senioritis." As the year comes closer and closer to the end, the senioritis gets worse and worse.

1. You've forgotten how to dress.

At the beginning of the year, you at least tried to make an effort and wore jeans at least. But ow you roll out of bed too late to bother changing out of the sweatpants your wore to bed. And who are you trying to impress, anyways?

2. You don't even own a backpack anymore.

You don't even know what to bring to school anymore, so, if anything, you might just bring your laptop or a folder.

3. If you do have a backpack, it's full of 99% trash.

Between the fast food you eat every morning and all the worksheets that you've gotten handed back, it's no surprise that the inside of your backpack looks like a trash dump.

4. You walk into class late with a drink almost every day.

You're already late to class, so you might as well stop and get something to drink to keep you awake in class.

5. You wake up late every day.

Even though there's a high chance you don't have class until the late morning, you still find yourself waking up way later than you should have.

6. You've stopped wearing makeup.

People have seen you with makeup on before, so they remember what you look like with it, but you really don't have the extra time in the morning to put makeup on.

7. You take the saying "due today, DO today" to heart.

Unless something is actually due today, what is the point of doing it?

8. Busy work annoys you now more than ever.

Because everyone knows that copying 25 fifth-grade level vocab words from Quizlet onto paper is so not important right now.

9. Going to school every day for a week is impressive.

Sometimes we just need a break. Once a week. So, when a senior does show up every day one week, it is sort of impressive.

10. You've given up on parties.

Because you can get the full experience of a real-life high school party through Snapchat with none of the gross smell.

11. Your headphones have become an extension of yourself.

You don't really have the patience to listen to the girl you sit next to complain about how her boyfriend left her on read this morning for two minutes and now she thinks he's cheating on her with the girl in choir.

12. Your teachers are pretty much just older friends.

They're just as over the year as you, so they don't really care what you guys do anymore. They will gladly spend the whole class talking about the latest episode of "The Walking Dead" if it means they don't have to grade any papers.

13. You're counting down the days, minutes, and second until you finally graduate.

It seems like years until you graduate, but it's really only a couple months. If only it would come sooner...

Senior year is a whirlwind of work and stress between finishing high school and going to college, so it's no surprise that most kids start to get tired. Senioritis is very real and there really isn't a cure, you just have to push through and keep your eyes on that little scroll of paper.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
