13 Signs You're So Ready for Winter Break

With finals coming up, everybody is stressed. Bring on the late study nights, low-key breakdowns, plethora of notecards, and all the stress that comes with it. While finals take a huge toll on students, there's a huge reward that comes right after it all ends: winter break.

Winter break is arguably every college student's favorite time of the year. Time to come home, stay home, and be surrounded by the ones that you love. Are you ready?

1. You can't stop singing Christmas music.

Your roommates are already tired of your private Christmas concerts every night. Anytime a holiday song comes on, you HAVE to sing along. There's no other choice. Unfortunately, we can't all hit the same notes as Mariah Carey. That won't stop you from trying!

2. You are constantly tempted to deck out your room for the holidays.

Walking past the Christmas decorations in the mall feeds your dream of turning your room into a winter wonderland. You already have an idea of where you would put the tree, and you're willing to sacrifice your roommate's bed to make space for it.

3. You can't wait to see your BFFs that you haven't seen in *forever*

The group chat with all your best friends has already exploded with the "I MISS YOU SO MUCH" texts and all the plans you can't wait to fulfill together. You're excited to get Starbucks together and gossip about everything going on at your respective schools. #FriendshipGoals

4. You dream about jumping back into your bed.

Bed, sweatpants, and Netflix... what more could you ask for?

5. You absolutely cannot wait to be in your own bathroom (no shower shoes!)

No more hair in the drain or someone singing way off-key in the shower next to you. Just you, your shower, and your own off-key singing.

6. You just want to hug your mom after a stressful semester.

Daily night FaceTimes aren't cutting it anymore. You need a big hug from your mom to feel better about the extremely stressful semester you just overcame.

7. ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas Marathon. Enough said.

MOVIE. NIGHT. EVERY. NIGHT. You absolutely cannot wait to get into your fuzzy socks, grab your favorite songs, your friends, and enjoy beloved holiday movies all month long.

8. Holiday dinners are always on your mind.

This is arguably the best part of coming home. Forget about swiping into the dining hall for a month, you're free to your favorite home cooked meals 24/7!

9. You have a countdown for everything on your phone.

Countdown to seeing your best friends? Check. Countdown to Christmas? Check. Countdown to New Years? Check.

10. You're willing to just drop everything and leave by now.

By now, you can't even think about doing homework because you are just so excited to get back home and enjoy your winter break. You catch yourself daydreaming about everything you want to do during long lectures, and you spend most of the time in the library texting your friends about everything that you want to accomplish before you have to return to school for the spring semester. You're ready.

11. You're so excited to get finals over with.

Right after finals end, we will finally be free to go back home and recover from the endless all-nighters, memorization of formulas and definitions, caffeine overloads, and meltdowns your roommates had to deal with every night.

12. You can't wait to leave this semester behind.

By now, almost everyone is registered for classes next semester. Whatever class, professor, classmate, or subject you really didn't like this semester will be history. The opportunity to start over is coming up.

13. You most likely posted a "T-minus 2 weeks before squad is reunited" picture on Insta/Twitter/Facebook.

Of course you're excited to see your friends, but do you really miss them if you don't tell the whole world about it? If you want to prove your love, take a throwback picture (most commonly from graduation) of you and your friends and caption the amount of days, hours, minutes, and seconds before you're all reunited again.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
