13 Signs You Take Christmas VERY Seriously

Most people really love Christmastime. They might not be huge fans of the crowds, or the advertisements, or the fact that everything is snowflakes and holly on Nov. 1, but they still really do enjoy Christmas.

But there are the others: the outliers, like me, who think that Christmas is the absolute best time of the year. Shopping for friends and family begins as early as possible, and the halls are decked way before most people think it's socially appropriate. Those are the people I belong to. We take this holiday to mean more than the commercialization and sales, but as a real time to show people how much you care about them and how much you enjoy having them around. It's the one time a year your whole family makes an extra effort to be together, and you're always surrounded by the people who matter most to you. This is how you know that Christmas is your time.

1. Decorating your house, apartment, or dorm is something that brings you great joy and excitement. Just being able to get the neatly organized boxes of ornaments from the basement makes you happy.

2. You may be a slight perfectionist when it comes to said decorating.

3. You find it next to impossible to get your squad to take the perfect Christmas card picture.

4. You started compiling a gift list back in October. It bugs you to no end when friends and family refuse you tell you what they want.

5. And it frustrates you to no end when you can't find the perfect gift for someone.

6. You are the go-to gift wrapper for your family. (You should really start charging for this.)

7. If you're not hosting a Tacky Christmas Sweater Party, you're attending multiple. (Where else are you going to show off those gems?)

8. Caroling is an absolute must.

9. Christmas music fills your soul with joy.

10. You know at least one person who owns a Santa suit.

11. Speaking of Santa, you two are really tight, and you can't wait for him to make a visit.

12. You won't let anything ruin your Christmas spirit. NOTHING will stand in the way of you and the best holiday of the year.

13. You truly do love being surrounded by your friends and family for the entire holiday season. No matter how dysfunctional, there's no one you'd rather spend the holidays with.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
