13 Reasons Why Siblings Are The Best
Nay Felix

Growing up with a lot of siblings is a joy and a nightmare all at the same time. For me, having many siblings, there is nothing but craziness all the time in my household, but I wouldn't trade my siblings for anything in the world. There are definitely some great benefits to having siblings and before I wrote this article, I had asked help from my sister and my cousin to tell me just one thing they love about having siblings. Their answers? "My brother is annoying" and "nothing" was what I got. So scratch that, I made a list myself.

1. You always have someone to hangout with.

Your friends are busy or you just simply don't have any? Don't worry. Your siblings are always down to hangout! Even if it's just sitting in the living room watching Netflix, you never really do get bored with a sibling around.

2. They understand your sense of humor.

Like no one else actually. Even when they don't think what you're laughing at is actually funny, they know that you think it is and won't judge you for laughing.

3. They understand you in general.

Better than anyone ever could. They know what you've been through, the struggles you've faced, what makes you happy, what makes you sad. What's better than knowing someone who can truly understand you?

4. There's always someone else to blame.

As sad and wrong this is, if you have a sibling, you know you've blamed something you've done wrong on them.

5. They're your Guinea Pig.

The amount of times I had my siblings ask for something I actually really wanted or asked them to get something for me when I could have done it just as easily is pretty high. But I always remind them that they're the bestest! :D

6. Someone else is up to no good with you.

You have someone else who is also always up for some mischievous fun.

7. No need to hire a baby-sitter.

The best baby-sitter to hire is someone who really connects and relates to your kid, who better than their own sibling is best for them?

8. They teach you patience.

Being one of the oldest can both be good and bad when it comes to taking turns. It's either oldest goes first or youngest goes first, either one you are, learning patience from your siblings generally becomes a habit. Although my patience can run very thin with them also.

9. They make us selfless.

Seeing something they like and getting it just simply to make them happy is one of the greatest feelings. My siblings have taught me that it's not always about getting each other mad as much as we can, it's about being grateful that you have them in your life.

10. Great leadership skills.

As one of the oldest, I am looked up to a lot especially by my youngest sister. With this comes great responsibility and learning great leadership skills that help me with outside of my family.

11. Push you to be better.

Competitiveness gets to the best of us whether it's intentional or not. If you're older sibling was an athlete star, you learn to work just as hard, maybe even harder, to keep that in the family. It's never a bad thing either.

12. They have your back no matter what.

They may make fun of you and always give you a hard time but when times are truly rough they know exactly what to say and do to lighten up your mood.

13. Life is just simply better with them.

Pretty self-explanatory.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
