Some guys will always have a special place in our hearts--and NOT in a romantic way.

Every female has her girlfriends: the ones she loves to gossip with, and gush over, "like omg i love you like so much" and blah-blah-blah. But what about those friends of yours that go unnoticed? The ones that we don't gush over: our guy friends. These 13 reasons are why our guy friends will forever have a piece of our hearts ( and even that was a little too emotional):

1. Guy friends don't bring you drama (usually).

Guys don't care about drama. That's one of the most positive things about having a guy BFF. They don't want to hear you talk about it and they sure as hell don't want to be in the middle of it. They will never bring the drama to you, however, a big rule in the guy code book is to respect them enough to leave them out of it.

2. Guy friends will hear you out, but they'll also tell you how it is.

Referring back to #1, even though guys do not necessarily want to hear your BS, they will listen because they know it's their job to be there and listen to you. However, you can't be mad at them when you barely get more than a smirk, head nod, or one-word response. Now, if you ask them for their opinion, it may be a game changer. They have no problem telling you when you're being stupid or over-reacting. Honestly, they will probably get a kick out of it or some sense of boyish excitement out of getting the chance to be honest. They aren't your boyfriend. They don't have to make you feel good about yourself, and they definitely do not have to agree with you.

3. Guy friends will not judge you.

They don't care that you got totally obliterated last Saturday night and hooked up with one of their fraternity brothers. Honestly, when you tell them be ready for their "high five" or "knucks" to you with a stupid smirk on their face followed by "So how was it?", because you are their "bro" so they are going to treat this piece of information as if it was coming from one of their actual bros.

4. Greasy, fattening food? Guys are in at any day and any hour.

Yeah sometimes you will have the occasional movie night where your girlfriends are all in on the junk food, but I guarantee almost all of you reading this have encountered girls who say "that is way too bad for me I can't eat that tonight, I'm on a diet". With guy friends, they almost never turn down food.

5. Guy friends are the perfect wingmen (or anti-wingmen).

You go to a party and that creep you always see on campus is hitting on you. When you're there with your guy friends, you can claim one of them is your boyfriend to get rid of the kid. Or what if you're ex boyfriend shows up and you high-key want to make him jealous? You grab your guy friend. He'll play the part either way.

6. Have a bad day? He'll always be your go-to.

Guy friends don't want to make you talk about the bad day you just want to forget about. They know you want to forget about it and that's why they will be waiting for you with a beer--already cracked for you.

7. They are protective over you, which means you always have your back covered.

Guys don't care what people think about them. So if you need someone to stand up for you when some crazy girl is trying to get in your face for no reason, they'll be the ones there to do it. Someone spreading rumors around about you? Your guy friends have it under control. They have no problem putting someone in their place for you, even if they think you are actually the one in the wrong (which they will make sure you know after the fact).

8. They will always be one hundred percent honest with you--about everything.

Guy friends want you to know the truth. Again, they aren't your significant other so they do not have to agree with you or boost your self-esteem with a lie. Wanna know how you really look in that outfit/dress? Ask your best guy friend.

9. Guy friends don't expect gifts from you on birthday's, holiday's, etc.

They don't care if you got them that brand new dress from Forever 21 (if they even know what that is) or if you crafted them a cute picture frame with a collage of you two in it. Guys are simple. Get drunk with them for their birthday with alcohol you purchased, they'll share with you and it will be much, much cheaper. They don’t expect their “bros” to shower them with presents, so they won’t expect you too either.

10. They don't care if you embarrass yourself after that 10th shot of tequila.

Guy friends don’t care if you took one too many shots and followed them up with one too many beers, and are now bouncing around the party making a fool of yourself. Sloppy kiss your drunk hook-up that you will immediately regret in the morning, dance on all the tables you want, sing the wrong lyrics at the top of your lungs; your guy friends won’t care. They will make sure you get home okay and unharmed, and check back with you in the morning to reenact all your adventures of the night—laughing with you through all of them, not at you.

11. You don’t have to be all girly-girly around them.

You’re not hanging around your boyfriend here and they know that, and you know what? They don’t want you to act like you are. Guys want to be able to feel comfortable around you saying anything that comes to their mind. Bring out that inner-dude every girl secretly has and crack a beer with them, burp your ABC’s if you deem it necessary, talk with your mouth full, eat anything and everything in sight, but most importantly—don’t be the annoying girl who thinks everything guys do is gross. They’re guys, get used to it, embrace it, and join them if you want too; just let them know you're cool with it all.

12. When that guy breaks your heart: BEWARE.

Your guy friends are not going to play “daddy” over you but they are going to be protective. They might not do background checks on your new boyfriend (or they might) but if a guy wrong’s you, your guy BFF will be the first one by your side. Hurt you? Bad idea with these guys around. When your hurting, they have no problem making sure your ex is too. If they see your ex in public, he might just want to run the other way because public humiliation is some of their finest talents.

13. Your best guy friends deal with you the one week of the month no one else really wants to, including your boyfriend.

Let’s face it, this might be one of the most important reasons of appreciation we have for our guy BFFs. PMS-ing females are all bitches witches. Point. Blank. Period. We don’t care if we are hurting anyone’s feelings and we have no problem yelling at you one second and calling you our best friend the next. We crave sweets at certain times and by god we had better get it. Guy friends understand that. They don’t avoid you this week (even though they would rather wake a sleeping bear) they just deal with your sh*t and not question it (unless they're feeling ballsy, which we quickly shut down). If you have really good guy friends, they have no problem getting you your ice cream at 2 in the morning (or they’re scared not to). But hey, either way, props to them for still loving us.

Moral of the story? We all love hanging out with our girlfriends and having "girl time," but as much appreciation as we share with our girls, it's about time we show our guy friends the appreciation we have for them too. They're always there for us too, and try not to let it go unnoticed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
