It is that time of year. Mother's Day has crept up on every child in American once again. We drain our bank accounts for that perfect gift — a spa day, maybe a dozen beautiful roses, or for the lucky moms with youngsters — an 'IOU' coupon book.
It is impossible to put into words, or in a gift, just how much we love our mothers and want to thank them. I mean, they literally gave us our lives. So, this thank you goes out to my mom, and all of the other moms out there — not just on Mother's Day, but every day. Thank you...
1. For your good looks
I am really glad that I don't look like dad. Your genes blessed me.
2. For my siblings
You, unfortunately, had to deal with the drama of three girls living under one roof, but thank you for that. They are my best friends.
3. For (kind of) teaching me how to cook
Hey, cooking for three kids after work is hard. But, you taught me to make a delicious 'Mac 'N Cheese.'
4. For dealing with my teenage drama
You were the best shoulder to cry on and always offered it even if you knew the tears weren't worth my energy.
5. For being my support system
No matter what dream I had, you were with me the every step of the way.
6. For being a taxi
Soccer practice, tumbling, toting around my friends — you did it all. Your mini van ain't got nothin' on you.
7. For your strength
Some times were hard, but you were strong. You gave me your strength for which I am grateful.
8. For the countless pieces of advice
When I was knee-deep in problems, I could always count on your words to lift me.
9. For always believing in me
Believing in someone is the best gift, and you've done it for 19 years.
10. For giving me everything
From supporting me emotionally, financially, and sacrificing time for me, you are the most selfless mom I could ask for.
11. For knowing what is best for me
Even if I don't always listen...
12. Thank you for playing every role
Mother, friend, doctor, dad — you played every role at some point and did the best job.
13. For being you
No other mom was like you. You're the best mom I could ask for.
So thank you, mom. A mom like you deserves a Mother's Day every day.
