Hi, my name is [insert name here], and I’m a Halloween addict.
It's totally understandable. Halloween is great! And I've compiled a list of 13 reasons why Halloweekend is better than any other weekend, and it'll totally validate your love for the festivities. Here are 13 seasonally appropriate activities and products that prove that Halloween is the best:
1. Pumpkin carving. Cute family bonding time, or a way to let out your anger? Either way, it’s a fun activity that’s really only socially acceptable around Halloween. Added bonus: the pumpkin-y, delicious smells.
2. Halloween parties, especially the costumed kind. They’re just like any other party, but better, because of the spooky lights, costumes, and candy! Halloween weekend is guaranteed to have killer (see what I did there?) parties.
3. Candy. I’m not really a candy person, but around Halloween, I become a candy person. For some reason, it just tastes better during the Halloween season.
4. Haunted houses. My personal favorite Halloween activity. There’s something about being scared out of your mind while you subconsciously know you’re safe that makes a haunted house so much fun.
5. Old Halloween movies. Hello, "Hocus Pocus" and "Halloweentown." These old Halloween classics only play during the Halloween season.
6. Corn mazes. I’ve been in a corn maze in broad daylight, and it was still creepy. Just keep that in mind if you’re going in alone.
7. Fall flavors. Okay, this is more the entire fall season, but it still relates. Apple cider and pumpkin spiced everything Starbucks fall flavors. Seriously the best.
8. Seeing kids in their Halloween costumes. If I ever have a child of my own, he’s being dressed as a hamburger, or something equally as weird (I mean, how cute is this taco baby?!). When kids get really excited about their Halloween costumes, you can’t help but be excited too!
9. The weather. Halloween is at that perfect time of fall when the leaves have started to change color and the nights are slightly chilly, but it’s not too cold to spend some time outside. Perfect boot and sweater weather!
10. The decorations. Whether they’re cute or creepy, Halloween decorations are everywhere—on campus, in shops, even on peoples’ cars! It seems like everyone gets into the season, and that makes it so much more fun!
11. Halloween-themed episodes of your favorite shows. Creepy twists on the existing plot lines and sketchy costume parties make for an interesting turn of events on a lot of shows during the Halloween season.
12. The timing. Because when Halloween actually falls on a weekend, we must take advantage of it!
13. Costumes! Saving the best for last? I think so. Whether you DIY or buy a costume, this is hands-down the best part of Halloween. You can be whatever you want!
