This summer, to help lighten the load of the fall, I decided to take summer classes. Lately, I've been questioning that decision due to the craziness of my schedule. Every day, there seems to be a new due date, a new test, a new place they expect me to show up to. It's a never-ending cycle of school. Here's a list of my daily annoyances.
1. Taking tests
Why did I ever complain about test during the regular school year?
2. The depressing reality of my grades
I get it, I get it. I'm a terrible student. Can we please just go on a sticker system instead of the numerical system? No? Okay.
3. Studying while all your friends are posting pictures at the beach
Thanks, Carol, for posting 18 different pictures of you and all the rest of my friends at the beach while I'm in the library.
4. Finals
Seriously? Class just started two days ago.
5. Speaking of which, the fast paced atmosphere
No, I'm pretty positive class started two days ago. Checks calendar.
6. Having two days to write an in-depth paper on a subject I have no interest in
The trick is to make all your periods 14-point font. No one can tell the difference.
7. Technology Problems
Somehow, technology problems are amplified during the summer.
8. No time to procrastinate
Everything is literally due tomorrow.
9. Vacation doesn't really mean vacation
If I read in the car on the way, that means I can have an hour of fun once we get there.
10. Time management issues
A shower beer is the best beer.
11. Being broke because you can't have a summer job due to school
Dad's getting real tired of handing out $20 each week.
12. Trying to find the elusive post-grad job
Current inner monologue: Three to five years of experience? Does three semesters of internships count?
13. Student loans
Yes, summer is cheaper, but it's still money they want you to pay back.
In the end, though, it's all worth it. I hope.
