Here are 12 ways to tell, if you've been graced with the presence of a true Michigander!

12. We will never lose faith in our sports teams. Lions, Pistons, Tigers, and Red Wings can do no wrong in our eyes!


11. We drive all American cars… The Big Three is all, no foreign cars here! Chance are someone in our family works, or has worked in either GM, Ford, or Chrysler.


10. Big Mac is not just a burger on the McDonald's menu. It’s also a bridge we take to Mackinac City.

9. It’s Maize...not yellow or gold.

8. Driving 70 MPH in a snowstorm is no big deal. We will tell you the ice just fills up the potholes… making it much easier to drive!

7. We have seen and driven over potholes big enough to eat a Fiat.


6. 50-60 degrees is shorts weather to us Michiganders, even if it's still snowing.

5. Every Michigander packs for all four seasons, no matter where they are going.


4. Vernors cures everything. Better Made chips are truly better, and Faygo Red Pop is the only red pop we will drink.


3. It's not soda, it's pop, We have Trolls and Yoopers. Up North is a specific place, but different for everyone!


2. We will use our hand as a map, and the thumb, is a place...not just a finger!


1. We swear by our freshwater beaches… No place in the world can beat a Great Lakes beach!
