Ah, summer break. Summer break is almost universally loved and looked forward to every year. Summer is a time to relax, hang out with friends and for many, work our butts off. This year, we have the particular pleasure of watching the Summer Olympics. As it turns out, the Olympics and our summer break have more in common than initially thought. Here are 12 ways the Summer Olympics are just like your summer break!

1. How you feel when you get to ride in your friend's convertible, on a motorcycle, etc.

You pretty much feel like the coolest person on planet Earth.


2. How you feel when finish a particularly long show on Netflix.

You feel so accomplished, even though you probably shouldn't. I mean, finishing twelve seasons of 'Grey's Anatomy' is a pretty big accomplishment, right?


3. How you feel when you finally drag yourself to the gym after days of sitting on the couch.

And you feel like the hottest person on the planet....even if you are covered in sweat.


4. When you know that you're right and get to shut down a particularly rude customer at your summer job.

It's one of the absolute best feelings in the world.


5. How you feel on every pay day.

Working full time during the summer really does pay off. The hard part is saving it.


6. When your boss tells you that you can leave work early.

Screw the money! You basically become an Olympic athlete for how fast you run out of the store.


7. When you finally get to put on a cute outfit after days of wearing your disgusting work clothes.

You feel unstoppable as the world has become your runway.


8. How you feel when you find out you get to go on a weekend vacation.

Whether it be to a cabin, camping or a new city, you're thrilled nonetheless.


9. When summer has started to drag on too long.


It started it out great, but now, it seems like the days have become less exciting. You have stopped caring and just want to school to start up again.


10. When you get to see your friends from either home or school that you don't get to see very often.

You just can't contain your excitement.


11. When life starts getting real again toward the end of the summer and you realize you are going to have actual responsibilities.

Honestly, you're just along for the ride.


12. When you realize that you've actually had a pretty great summer.

And you're excited to see what will come next in the upcoming school year.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
