The last couple of weeks before a long, much-anticipated break from school are always agonizing and slow-moving. This is the time when finals are staring at you like an angry bull, and the thought of being cozy at home with family for Christmas seems like the gates of heaven compared to the hell of cafeteria food and a bleak dorm room. Here are the feelings every college student experiences during the last couple weeks before winter break, expressed through the brilliance of Tropic Thunder gifs.

1. When you're stressing about the multiple final exams, projects, papers and everything else that are about to crash on you like a wave.

2. When you're eating the awful cafeteria food and just wishing it was a nice home-cooked meal.

3. When you and your friends are all suffering from exhaustion after constant studying and the bickering starts.

4. When that one model student tries to complain about finals on behalf of the class and everyone else is confused.

5. When you think about how much longer you have until break starts.

6. When you read an email from your professor about the ridiculous amount of work you have to finish before break.

7. When your family tells you about the people excited to see you at home again.

8. When you're walking to your finals, and your friends say goodbye...

9. ...and when you walk back.

10. Being not only sad, but freezing all the time.

11. Seeing those final grades and your GPA coming in.

12. Saying goodbye to your friends for the break and them being sad and you being lowkey just excited to be home and done with everything school related.

The last couple weeks before break are tough. To all my fellow college kids suffering:

SURVIVE!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
