Even though I am only a junior, I dread the day when I will have to walk across the stage in a cap and gown, shake President Porterfield's hand, and accept my college diploma (hopefully). For most people, life after college is uncertain and not knowing the next step is for some people, very stressful. But it is also an exciting time because you are actually starting your life as a young adult! (Yikes, I'm glad I have one more year.)
If you're like me, you've probably had these 12 concerns or thoughts about what life after college will be like.
1. I hope someone will hire me so I don't have to live in my parents' basement till I'm 30.
We've all seen "Failure to Launch" and Mathew McConaughey's character does not scream cool bachelor in this film.
2. I also hope that I don't end up alone with 50 cats.
Everyone knows they become your only friends.
3. How will I do my taxes?
Seriously, does anyone know how to do this?
4. How will I make enough money to support my current lifestyle of buying everything I see?
No more CVS runs and ordering food from Iron Hill.
5. Will people like me at my first job?
It's like middle school all over again.
6. Will I get a job that I like?
Will I be stuck crunching numbers for the rest of my life? What does that even mean?
7. Does this mean I have to get married in a few years?
Let's be serious, you become an old maid after 25.
8. Maybe I'll try law school.
Hey, if Elle Woods can do it, then I can -- right?
9. Nope. Definitely not law school.
Med school, maybe?
10. So no more summer vacation, then?
That's why I gotta become a teacher.
11. What if I have to live alone?
I've seen that horror movie and it does not end well for the young adult living in an apartment by themselves.
12. I can finally get as many pets as I want!
Freedom to get five puppies! (Much cooler than owning 50 cats.)
