If you're anything like me, you miss all the great stuff that you had as a child. Life back then was simple; we could be preoccupied with our toys for hours. Here are some things that will remind you of your childhood.

1. Nickelodeon Tapes

These weren't like any other VHS tapes. These tapes were basically all of the Nick movies that you loved.

2. Lipsmackers Lip Balm

It was a necessity to have lip balm as a child and not just any kind would do. You had almost every flavor of Lipsmackers in your lip balm collection.

3. Skip Its

This was one of the best toys to have as a child. Until you managed to break your ankle with it.

4. Slap Bracelets

A key accessory to any outfit was a slap bracelet. These came in almost any color or design, so you had one to match any outfit.

5. Paper Fortune Tellers

You and your friends used these to tell your future.

6. Easy Bake Oven

You were basically a professional baker if you had one of these as a child, even if you only made semi-decent cakes.

7. Polly In My Pocket

Everyone had a Polly In My Pocket that they took everywhere with them.

8. Mr. Sketch Markers

You couldn't just have any kind of markers as a kid. You had to have the scented markers. They obviously made every drawing better.

9. Blockbuster

Nothing made me and my sister more excited than when our mother took us to Blockbuster every Friday. We had to agree on a movie to watch over the weekend. When next Friday would come around, we would get to pick another movie.

10. Dial Up Internet

This was the best and worst thing as a child. On one hand, you could go on the internet to play games. On the other hand, you had to wait until your mom was off the phone to actually get on the internet.

11. Wonder Ball

This was the best candy as a kid. It was a hard, chocolate shell on the outside, with hard, fruity candy on the inside.

12. Disposable Cameras

I was really into taking pictures as a little kid. My mom would buy me a new camera and I would go around taking pictures of what I was doing at parties, sleepovers, and what-not. Sometimes it was a pain when you would get your pictures developed and that one picture you thought looked really cool ends up being blurry.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
