12 Things I'm Excited for this Semester at Liberty University
Liberty University

Well, with only a couple more days until "Move-In Day" at Liberty, all I can seem to think about is how truly excited/nervous/terrified/anxious/pumped I am for this upcoming semester! I know this transition from high-school life at home with my parents, to college life away from everyone I know is going to be tricky, but I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me and my fellow peers at Liberty this fall! Let's get this semester started with twelve things that I am absolutely stoked for!

1. A New Place!

Both times that I have visited Liberty, I have met some of the most pleasant, spirit-filled people ever. I can't wait to be totally immersed in the community of believers, and the love of Christ's people while I am away at school.

2. New People!

One thing that I absolutely LOVE to do is meet new people! I'm so excited for dorm life and finding new people to connect with so that life in college can be even more great!

3. Challenging Courses.

High-school was not a very challenging academic experience for me, so I cannot wait to be challenged while I am at Liberty this fall. With courses such as Intermediate Biology, Chemistry, and Calculus, I am so excited to put my brain to work and really strive for that 4.0 GPA!

4. Spiritual Fellowship!

From late-night study sessions to afternoon coffee dates, I am so ecstatic to have more Christian friends who yearn for more of Jesus and less of themselves. Having fellowship with other Christians who are in the same stage of life as myself is so motivating for me, and I'm pumped to be able to have that where I am studying!

5. Independence - well, kind of.

I'm a very independent person, so I can't wait to be able to make my choices and live my life on my own terms (kind of)! LU has some pretty strict rules, but they're only there to protect and ensure that its students make the most out of their college experience! Despite these rules, I will be able to make most of my own decisions, and I'm pumped for that!

6. FOOOOOODD!!!!!!!

8. Convo!

Like most Christian colleges, Liberty does require its students to attend convocation. Liberty's requirements differ however, in that the students must attend three times a week. It may seem a little excessive, but after talking to current students, I've been told that it really isn't a burden at all, and that they actually look forward to attending convocation! I am really excited for all of the great speakers and worship bands that Liberty provides its students, and I can't wait to see what God does through it!

9. Sporting Events!

Liberty University also provides its students to virtually free access to all division one sporting events, including football games! I'm ready to "Be early. Be loud. Wear red!"

10. Concerts!

Another really awesome thing about LU, is that they bring in the top artists in Christian music for their students to worship with! I've already bought my ticket for Bethel Music, one of my all-time favorite worship bands, and I am so completely stoked for them to come worship with LU on campus!

11. My Own Life.

I've kind of already stated this, but I'm going to reiterate just a bit. I've been independent since I came out of the womb (seriously, I'm like a less crude version of Stewie from Family Guy), and the thought of being on my own really makes me giddy. Of course I will miss my family and friends from my hometown, but I am ready to be off on my own and start my journey as an adult (kinda).

12. A New Beginning!

A new semester, at a new school, in a new state is bound to be great for a new beginning! Now that my childhood years are practically over, it's time for a new beginning! I can't wait to meet new people, learn new information, and experience new things.

So, with that being said and the new semester rapidly approaching, the time has come for change and excitement! Embrace the new semester! What are some things you are excited for in this new season of life?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
