There comes a time in every girl's life where she needs to be reassured that everything will work out for the best. College years can be tough on just about everyone, but it's important to remember that you are stronger than you think.
1. It's OK not to be OK.
Just because things aren't going the way you thought they would doesn't mean everything isn't going to turn out OK. We each have a different path ahead of us.
2. This is the time where you're allowed to make mistakes.
As long as you grow and learn from them. Nobody is perfect, but your friends will be there to catch you when you fall.
3. Go out with your girl friends.
Don't just sit in and ignore every chance you get to go out. Even if you're just sitting in someone's basement drinking wine and watching Netflix. Enjoy it while you can.
4. It's OK to be by yourself.
You have the rest of your life to be with someone, but first you have to find yourself and know that you can be independent. You have to love yourself first before you can love anybody else.
5. Don't take opportunities for granted.
If you get the chance to do something that you've always wanted to, go for it. Don't let anyone hold you back. And don't be scared to put yourself out there. Some things only come once in a lifetime.
6. If you get the chance to travel the world before you settle down and start a career, do it.
It's important to have a sense of what the world is like from places besides the United States.
7. Don't feel bad about taking summer classes.
It's only going to benefit you in the end and hey maybe you'll even graduate early. And if you get the chance live away from home. It will be the best experience of your life.
8. Don't worry about the weight you gained during the year.
You'll lose it in no time. Everyone stress eats in college, so you're not the only one who wants to get their summer body ready.
9. It's OK to lose your high school friends.
You're starting a new chapter in your life and not every friend will make it. Not everyone is going down the same path anymore. However, the ones who stand by you will be there forever.
10. Don't compare your situation to someone else's.
Everyone around you is experiencing different things and not every situation is the same. Some people will have it worse than others but that doesn't mean that your problems don't matter.
11. Stop stressing out over a job or internship.
You have plenty of time to do that when you get out of college and start your career. Take as many opportunities as you possibly can.
12. If you set a goal or a dream and it doesn't turn out the way you want it to, don't give up.
Stick with it or just make a new one. Make a list of goals if you want too, but make them things that you know you can succeed at. Don't be too hard on yourself.
