I am an extremely unorganized person. My life is sometimes a, to put it nicely, chaotic wreck. However, people love me regardless to how many times I forget when a meeting starts.
1. Be prepared to not get that hat, shirt or sunglasses I borrowed from you until a couple months after the fact.
2. Teachers look at all my papers and wonder how I ever turn anything in on time.
3. My room is always a disaster.
Tell me in advance before you are coming over. If not, expect my room to look like a tornado came through it.
4. I don't own a planner.
5. People who are obsessed with organization look at me in shame.
Real life, my friend spent 10 minutes organizing my papers for me because she couldn't handle it.
6. I leave everything everywhere.
I recently lost my phone for a full 12 hours because I couldn't remember where I left it. Spoiler alert: I put it in my boot for safe keeping because that is a good place to leave a phone, right?
7. Assignments get done as late as possible because due dates are just suggested, right?
When is that 5-page paper due? Monday? Oh. Maybe I should get started on that because it is, well, Sunday.
8. Just rely on me being 15 minutes late to almost everything.
9. People have to constantly remind me to bring things because forgetfulness comes with being unorganized.
Friend; "Did you remember the alarm clock?" Two hours later. "Please don't forget the alarm clock."
Me as I arrive: "I forgot that alarm clock".
10. I lose almost everything twice.
11. Entrusting me with an important piece of the puzzle to make an organization work is setting yourself up for failure.
12. Having that organized friend is key.
In the end, I seem to function just fine being unorganized. Yes, my life can be a little bit stressful at times because of it. However, whose isn't?
