Christmas music is upon us and I can definitely hear the sleigh bells jingling. Here's a list of 12 songs that are different from the typical Christmas songs echoing through department stores (or different artist singing those songs). Go ahead and add these to your Spotify playlist and mix up your Christmas music selection this holiday season.

1. Drummer Boy - Justin Bieber

I picked this song just because Bieb's rap is just too hilarious/adorable. This entire album is just wonderful, if you want to get in the Christmas spirit pop some Justin on the record player and soak it in. I can sum up all of his Christmas songs with one dreamy concept - all Justin wants for Christmas is YOU.

2. Cuddle Up - Catey Shaw

Catey Shaw has such an interesting voice, and it added that little something special to my Christmas playlist this year. The best part about winter is cuddling, and Catey gets straight to the point in this catchy tune.

3. I Don't Wanna Spend Another Christmas Without You - The Ready Set

The Ready Set hails from my hometown, Fort Wayne Indiana, so I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for my pop punk tween crush and his path to fame. Irregardless, this song is cute and fun and different than the same five Christmas songs playing on the radio.

4. Santa Tell Me - Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has an incredible voice, despite the whole pony tail diva thing she has going on. When I sing along to this I feel really fabulous so it always makes my Christmas playlist cut.

5. I'll Be Home - Meghan Trainor

I don't like Meghan Trainor, but I unfortunately like this song and it made the list somehow.

6. Greatest Time Of Year - Aly & AJ

Wow, throwback, am I right? While you're reminiscing about the good ole Aly and AJ days go ahead and listen to "Girl Of My Dreams" by the Jo Bros. Those are the kind of Christmas classics I'm all about, man.

7. All My Bells Are Ringing - Lenka

Lenka starts out strong in this song with some "Oo ba ba" background singers and wow, it really gets me in the holiday spirit. Plus, she's a little different and has the kind voice that makes you jealous. You'll love it, just listen.

8. Mistletoe - Colbie Caillat

Colbie Caillat's Christmas album, Christmas In The Sand, is incredibly infuriating if you're from somewhere where there is no sand or sunshine or happiness like I am. But, it's still pretty good. This one is my favorite because I'm kind of a fan of dismal Christmas songs. I don't know how these artists combine heartbreak with Christmas cheer, but I'm really digging it this year.

9. All My Christmasses - Jillian Edwards

This song about a Christmas romance is adorable. These are the best types of holiday songs, where they're just so stinking cute and you can't help but snap along and smile from ear to ear.

10. I'll Be There Soon - Us The Duo

These guys are just too cute, and also so incredibly talented. Their newest song is really jazzy and classic, but it screams Christmas cheer. Give it a listen, I promise you won't regret it.

11. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Sam Smith

He's incredible and this cover of a Christmas classic doesn't need an explanation.

12. Oh, Holy Night - Hey Monday

Before Cassadee Pope was country, she was pop punk and this song is one of the few remaining obsessions I have from my rebellious days. It's a good one, trust me.

Merry Christmas friends and happy listening!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
