Christmas is my favorite holiday for many reasons. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas

1. The Decorations

Everything is so colorful and jolly. All the stores have bright lights and sparkly decorations. Homes have Christmas trees glistening through the window with bright lights and snowflakes and ice sickles coming from the rooftop.

2. Hot Chocolate

I am the type of person who does not like eggnog but I love some hot coco. Add milk and some little marshmallows make it incredible. Put it in a cute little Christmas mug makes it even better.

3. Snow

In North Carolina, it hardly snows during winter, but I have seen snow. I love playing in the snow, making forts, and building snowmen. I love watching my dogs play in the snow. It is so beautiful and breathtaking.

4. Christmas Movies

I enjoy wrapping up on the couch with tons of blankets and watching a good Christmas movie. My favorite is Home Alone and the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. Those always put me in the mood.

5. Wrapping Gifts

There is something about putting together a gift. Wrapping it up and putting a pretty bow on top is so pleasing. Then to put it under the tree makes it even more beautiful.

6. Spending Time with Family & Friends

Nothing honestly beats spending quality time with your family and friends. The conversations are always funny and entertaining. You create more memories as you reminisce on the old ones. Laughter is in the air and so is a good time.

7. The Food

This is when the best food is cooked. You get to fill up and eat more than you ever had. You get to have a wonderful home-cooked meal and gather around the table with friends and family. This is also the time when there are so many desserts that are oh so yummy.

8. Giving Back

I think it is important to give back in your community. You can go to the soup kitchen, volunteer with an organization, or adopt a kid to give gifts to. All of these are great ideas and there are plenty more depending on where you live.

9. Buying Gifts for Others

I get so giddy and excited when I buy a gift for a loved one. I imagine their reaction and what they’re going to feel inside when they unwrap their gift. They will see the sentiment and thought that I put into the gift.

10. The Christmas Tree

Finding the perfect Christmas tree is the best. You search long and hard and maybe even chop your own one down. Then you get to put it up and the whole house smells of the tree. You get to decorate the tree and watch it come alive. This is when the magic comes alive.

11. Opening Gifts

I think everyone enjoy opening presents. I cannot wait to open gifts from loved ones because it really is the thought that counts. I enjoy seeing their faces when I open the gift because they bought it thinking of me and that is what matters most.

12. The Christmas Spirit

There is such thing as the Christmas spirit. Everyone is jolly and happy. The giving mood is increased and being friendly becomes the norm. Smiles and laughter are coming from everyone.

The Thanksgiving season is a time we spend with our loved ones giving thanks for the blessings we are given. Here are 20 Bible verses that remind us of what Thanksgiving is all about:

1) 1 Chronicles 16:34

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

2) Colossians 3:15-17

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

3) Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

4) Psalm 30:12

That my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

5) Isaiah 12:4-5

And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.

6) Hebrews 12:28-29

Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.

7) Jonah 2:9

But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving. That which I have vowed I will pay Salvation is from the Lord."

8) 1 Timothy 4:4-5

For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

9) Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.

10) Psalm 100:4

Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.

Even though it's the beginning of September, college students have to deal with scary things all day, every day, regardless if it's Halloween or not, contrary to popular belief.

Not only do college students have to deal with overwhelming amounts of homework, but life really can be hard, why lie?

If school work doesn't frustrate you to the ends of the earth, friend drama, family drama, or just having an awful moment can turn your good day into one of the worst ones in history.

When it comes to bad days, all's fair in love and war, unfortunately.

Sometimes your soul will skyrocket out of the atmosphere because you're just so frustrated, while other time's you'll just give up on the spot, but whatever the case may be, it's going to be OK.

There's plenty of people on this world that relate to your pain. We understand.

Here's to all the spooky things you'll hear before Halloween.

1. "Single Spaced Essay's."

That moment when the Professor thinks it's a wonderful idea to introduce a ten-page paper that's not due until Christmas, but it has to be single-spaced.

2. "Did you do the homework?"

Uh - what homework?

3. "Hey, your Student Loans called."

I can pay them back with my three dollars, right?

4. "The wifi isn't working."

Scenario: It's 11:50 p.m. on the day your assignment's due, and your WiFi cut off just as you were about to press submit. Spooky.

5. "Are you ready for the midterm?"

Let's be real, when is anyone really ready for Midterms?

6. "This is a group-related project."

Why can't I just do my work alone? I'm not the only one that can't function with group projects, right?

7. "What are you doing after graduation?"

If you asked me what I wanted to do in the future three years ago, I could've responded. Now, I'm just taking it day by day, my dude.

8. "Have you seen my headphones?"

The worst feeling ever is trying to find your headphones, only to realize they're missing.

9. *Looks at Tuition Fees*

Why? Just, why?

10. "I won't be here to teach the class, but you still have to come."

Why can't you just cancel class? Please?

11. "I hope everyone did the reading for today. Pop Quiz!"

Darn it.
