Even though the TV show "Friends" has been around for over 20 years, the jokes and storylines remain a timeless classic for new generations. The show covers topics that apply to all kinds of people even years later. Although we may not have got married to our friend while drunk in Las Vegas or given birth to our brother’s triplets, we can relate to elements of the stories and their characters. We see bits of ourselves in the six friends as they try to make their way in the world – which isn’t so different to ours now. Here are 12 times "Friends" has taught us a crucial life lesson.

1. Being a grownup doesn't have to be scary.

Thank you Joey, for teaching me to stay a kid at heart.

2. Never give up on the one you love.

Oh, and she got off the plane!!

3. Don't count Mississippi-ly when getting a spray tan.


4. Always remember to pivot when moving heavy furniture.

5. The difference between You're and Your.

Thanks for the grammar lesson Ross.

6. Sundays are the day of rest.

Chandler, I am in 100% support of this particular life lesson.

7. Never put beef in a trifle.

No one ever said cooking was easy!

8. Live life without regrets.

Look at life the way Joey looks at food; with love and endearment.

9. Always know your relationship status.

11. It's okay to express your true feelings.

We should all be a little more like Chandler.

12. Never take your friends for granted.

They'll be there for you.. cue the theme song please.

Despite the fact that "Friends" was an upbeat comedy, it's major impact on our society is still in affect today, and continues to spread happiness and laughter to new generations.
