Spring cleaning is always an essential during these months of the year. The weather is warmer, the sun is shining, and you feel more motivated to get things done and check off your list. You can throw these items away, donate them, or give them to someone you know will appreciate them more than you. Here I have compiled a list of 12 items that you really should say goodbye to during this spring cleaning season!

1. Old nail polish

You definitely do not need 10 shades of pink just chilling in your collection. Time to say goodbye!

2. Clothes you did not wear this winter

We all have expectations of wearing certain clothes during the winter, but some always manage to get stored in the back! Be ruthless, you probably won't wear it again. Donate them to someone who can make real use out of them! Also, this is a great time to go through your undergarments and see which pairs of underwear you really need to say goodbye to!

3. Old mugs or traveling water bottles

Let's face it. We don't need 20 mugs and 15 water bottles. Time to empty the space in your cabinets!

4. Samples samples samples

I am really bad with this. I always buy the travel sizes of makeup or snag the samples of lotion. We all don't need them and if we did, we would purchase the larger size! Goodbye!

5. Condiments packets

Sauces, tea bags, coffees, anything! Why must I take ten packets of duck sauce when I know I will only need one or two? Throw those bad boys in the trash already!

6. That Halloween candy

We all know you still have some extra Halloween candy just chilling in the pantry. I think it's time to get rid of it!

7. Makeup

Whether you find yourself not reaching for it or it has seen better days, get rid of some of that old makeup that you don't need! You can also give your family and friends some of the makeup you don't use!

8. Pictures and apps on your phone

I don't know why I feel the need to keep so many pictures, messages, and apps on my phone. If you can't part with messages, set it up on your Mac computer! If you can't part with pictures, upload them then delete them off your phone! If you can't part with apps, keep track of the ones you use and the ones you don't!

9. Old and insignificant items

Let me go more into depth here, do you really need that stuffed animal you won at the carnival in 7th grade? I highly doubt it. Items like these that hold no real significance can really take up a lot of space. Time to say bye bye!

10. Old writing implements

I never know why this happens, but I always try to use a pen that is almost out of ink, a pencil that is way too small, or an eraser that has seen better days. Just throw them away!

11. The people that don't care about you

Spring cleaning doesn't always mean throwing away or donating items, you can say goodbye to those who have wronged you these past few months as well. See ya never!

12. All of those t-shirts

Why do I always find myself drowning in t-shirts? We really need to figure out a way to narrow these things down...

Good luck and happy cleaning!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
