12 Awesome Animal Instagrams Worthy Of Your Follow

Instagram is one of my favorite social media apps, and of course, I couldn't have an account without following other accounts dedicated to animals.

So, here, in no particiular order, are my favorite animal Instagrams:

1. @natgeowild

If you like wild animals, this is the account that you should follow. Featuring lion cubs, elephants, sea turtles, and updates on every National Geographic Wild show to ever exist, you won't be disappointed.

2. @thedogist

New York Times bestseller, The Dogist, created by Elias Weiss Friedman, is a photo-documentary that captures the beauty of dogs. Friedman has traveled to over 50 cities to do this, and let me tell you: every dog in every city is magnificent.

3. @rokuthecat

Roku Roku, the best cat of Instagram, always seems to have this look on his face. He also is pictured constantly in a state of leisure, either lounging on his human, or just plain passed out somewhere. If you follow him, he won't let you scroll past him; he is THAT cute.

4. @joelsartore

Joel Sartore, a National Geographic photographer, founded Photo Ark, a collection of photos that capture endangered animals. In Photo Ark, Sartore is trying to illuminate our impending extinction crisis, and to do this, he also presents us with quite stunning animal shots on Instagram.

5. @susiesseniordogs

This account promotes the adoption of senior dogs that often get overlooked in shelters. Everyday a different dog is highlighted, complete with a picture, their name, and their story.

6. @raw1112

I don't know who takes this account's pictures, but I love whomever it is. This account is full of photos of an extremely cute chipmunk, and although I have no idea why a person has a pet chipmunk, I'm not complaining.

7. @mensweardog

A dog dressed up in men's clothing.... What more can we ask for?

8. @hummingbirdsxoxo

A woman by the name of Tracy has earned the trust of several hummingbirds near her home, and has subsequently shared their beauty with the world on Instagram. She posts both pictures and videos of her birds, and each and every post honestly make me stare in awe.

9. @thomaspeschak

Thomas Peschak, both an incredible National Geographic photographer and Director of Conservation for the Save Our Seas Foundation, takes breathtaking photos of marine life. Spanning subjects from sharks to sea lions to coral, you won't be disappointed when you look through Peschak's account.

10. @pumpkintheraccoon

This account tells the story of Pumpkin, a rescued raccoon from the Bahamas who always seems to be getting into trouble. She lives with her friends, two rescue dogs, and her owner, who takes the cutest pictures of them... You won't want to miss it.

11. @penny_thegoat

Penny Lane the goat lives with her family and acts, quite literally, as their child. Her Instagram account captures Penny's daily activities, and it has even shown the world some of her crazy adventures, like surfing at the beach and doing yoga with her mom.

12. @estherthewonderpig

Esther was supposed to be a "micropig," according the the people who sold her in 2012. However, as it turns out, Esther grew to be a full-size, 670-pound commercial pig, and when her owners realized it, they were already too much in love with her. So, Esther lives with her family, has her own Instagram account, and even has her own book! It's impossible to not love her.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
