You deserve love. True love. Not because of anything you’ve done, but simply because you do.

You deserve to be listened to. Every word you speak deserves to have its value recognized. You deserve to be challenged, argued with, and criticized with respect, in an effort to help you discover more about yourself and to strengthen your knowledge and beliefs. You deserve to have your words noticed. You deserve to be listened to intently, and responded to with love.

You deserve to be admired. You deserve to have your personality complimented. Your significant other should be in awe at the gentleness of your heart. Your flaws and insecurities should be valued, too. They should be valued in a way that either accepts them or, if needed, helps you improve them, making you an even better person than you already are. You deserve to be changed by a love that only wants the best for you.

You deserve to be told you are beautiful. You deserve to be looked at with innocent, loving eyes, amazed at your natural beauty. You deserve for someone to stare at your crooked smile and messy hair. You deserved a love that is fixated on how you look when you are laughing so hard you can’t breathe and when you are quietly thinking to yourself. You deserve to be told you look beautiful when you are doing the most mundane tasks. When you're reading a book, doing the dishes, or fixing your hair, your radiance should be noticed. You deserve to be told how beautiful you are, even when you don’t feel like it, but also when you do. You deserve to trust and to be trusted. You deserve to never be compared to someone else. You deserve to not feel like you have to fight for someone’s attention.

You deserve to be pursued. You deserve to feel elegant. You deserve to be treated with respect. You deserve to have your boundaries respected. You deserve to be supported. You deserve to be treated as a whole person, body and soul. Your soul should be highly valued. You deserve to be prayed with and prayed for. You deserve to be laughed with, to share memories. You deserve to be taken on proper dates. You deserve a real phone call. You deserve car doors opened, jackets offered, and phones turned off. You deserve to be walked to your door. You deserve to be held gently. You deserve to have your hand held.

You deserve attention and appreciation. You deserve to feel like you are important because you are. You deserve to not have to question your value, worth, or place in someone’s life. You deserve to be bragged about and adored. You deserve little disagreements. You deserve to know that the one you love loves you enough to trust you with contrasting opinions. You deserve to know that your happiness is valued. You deserve to have goals shared. You deserve to be compromised with. You deserve to apologize and to be apologized to. You deserve to never stop being pursued by the one you love because the one you love should never take you for granted. You deserve to feel cherished.

You deserve to be reminded of how wonderful and loved you are. Because you are. You deserve to be reminded of it again, and every day.

You deserve to give this love in return. You deserve to love. You deserve to be and to feel loved. And if you don’t, you deserve better.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
