The early 2000s was a time of the YouTube craze. Being a middle schooler at the time, the topic of conversation usually revolved around the hottest YouTube video. We're the generation of technology, and sites such as YouTube became our generation's own personal source of entertainment. Now that we have all grown up and YouTube isn't our only source of videos, here are a few YouTube videos we forgot we loved.
1. “Chocolate Rain”
On Apr 22, 2007, Tay Zonday posted his original song that went viral; he even got to perform on "Americas Got Talent" and was featured on "Tosh.0."
2. "Leave Britney Alone"
On Aug 11, 2011, the infamous Chris Crocker posted a video, hysterical about leaving his idol Britney Spears alone! Chris Crocker was invited on numerous talk and radio shows, including "Maury" to speak about his video.
3. "David After the Dentist"
This January 2009 video was the original “after dental surgery” video. Seven-year-old David is completely out of it. David goes completely out of control and doesn’t understand why he feels so funny. Numerous parodies were made, making David a hit.
4. "Zombie Kid Likes Turtles"
When a news reporter tries to interview a little boy about his time at the Waterfront Park in Portland, his only response is “I like turtles." This was completely out of context, creating the hilarity of the video. The “Zombie Kid” was even featured on "Tosh.O."
5. "7-Year-Old Takes Car On Joyride"
When a news reporter talks to 7-year-old Latarian Milton about why he grabbed his grandmother's keys and crashed her car, Latarian responds, "I wanted to do hood rat stuff with my friends.” This saying is still used today, and we can thank Latarian for that. Latarian was featured by Daniel Tosh on "Tosh.0."
6. “Here It Goes Again”
OK Go's music video for "Here It Goes Again" is also known by most as the Treadmill Video. Never before would anyone believe a video of four guys on treadmills could be so entertaining.
7. "Shoes"
This 2007 video is the story of a girl who is going to get what she wants, no matter what. She may not be the prettiest girl on the block, and even though haters pop up left and right, she doesn't let them drag her down (as the YouTube description claims). This video went viral, reaching over 58 millions views! "Shoes" won a People's Choice Award for best user-generated video.
8. "Muffins"
This is by Liam Kyle Sullivan, the same creator as “Shoes." The video was not as popular as "Shoes," but it still reached over 23 million views. The video is about Sullivan introducing Cunningham Muffins' new and exciting flavors.
9. "Charlie the Unicorn"
This 2006 video by FilmCow went viral with over 67 million views! It was so popular it spawned four sequels.
10. "Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise"
The Potter Puppet Pals come together to sing, and they soon find out what the "mysterious ticking noise" is. The video includes all the main characters of "Harry Potter," and it went viral for the catchy song many of us still remember to this day.
11. "The Evolution of Dance"
Comedian Judson Laipply's "Evolution of Dance" was posted in 2006 and soon went viral, reaching over 295 million people. "The Evolution of Dance" has a huge prominence even today, as it was recently parodied on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon." This video shows how music and dance from over the ages has changed.
