We all have been there, and if you haven't, please consider yourself lucky. Whether you are a freshman in high school or a senior in college at some point in your academic career you have run into a point in which you can no longer study, and your brain feels completely fried. This feeling can be overwhelming, but you should not let it get the better of you because this one assignment or exam is not the more important than your mental or physical health. Please remember that everything will work itself out, that you are allowed to take breaks and go out with friends and that you will make it through this assignment. Good luck with the semester and remember that you can do all things through Christ!
1. Take a 30 minute break.
You can basically do whatever on this break but do not go on social media.
2. Go for a run or a walk or go the gym.
3. Have a five-minute dance party with a friend.
This is a Grey's Anatomy reference.
4. If you haven't eaten, you should eat because honestly how did you expect to study on an empty stomach?
5. Take a short nap, set the alarm and rest your eyes.
6. Try teaching or explaining what you are trying to study to a friend.
If they understand what you are explaining or seem to grasp it then you do as well.
7. Color.
There are tons of adult and child coloring pages on the internet; print one out and get to it. Being creative can boost your morale and help you retain what you are trying to study.
8. Play a game on a console or on your phone.
Remember to keep it to a minimum though because you will need to get back to studying after all.
9. Watch an episode of your favorite show or find something on the TV to watch for about half an hour.
10. Call a family member or friend.
Goodness knows they are probably dying to talk to you.
11. Read the Bible and Pray.
There isn't a passage on studying but there is a whole lot of inspiration. Always remember that when you are lost or struggling that the Lord will bring you back to calmer waters.
