As the weather gets colder and we start to break out the fuzzy blankets and pumpkin flavored anything, I can't imagine anything better than watching a great show on a cool Sunday night. Of course, Netflix is always the go-to for the best things to watch. When you need something new, but are overwhelmed by the immense number of choices, you can refer to my recommendations for this fall.
1. Friday Night Lights
I can't think of any better way to sum up fall than with cool weather and high school football. For those nights when you want to relive the glory days of high school, or enjoy a drama filled flick, this one is great choice.
2. New Girl
Didn't have a great day and in need of a good laugh? This happens to be one of my favorite shows (not just because the main character's name is Jess) because of how fun and light the story line is and how relateable the four roommates, all sharing an apartment together, are. The sitcom reminds us that it is okay to be us, and that it is okay to not have your life completely together.
3. Once Upon a Time
For all those Disney fans out there, this is the perfect show for you. "Once" showcases realism through a modern perspective, all while including all of our favorite Disney characters. From Snow White to Hook to Elsa, just about every princess or villian takes a part in this thrilling mystery. So when you are looking to get lost in a new reality, try out "Once." But take this as your warning: you will become only slightly obsessed.
4. Scandal
This Washington D.C. based shows gives an inside look on what we imagine the drama circulating inside the White House would be like through the strong female character of Olivia Pope. She and a team of lawyers protect the most elite clients, while Olivia is having a secret affair with the President of the United States.
5. Stranger Things
This show combines straight up creepy with mystery. Especially with Halloween coming up, this action packed adventure of a series keeps you on your feet while hooking you into watching.
6. Fuller House
This spin off of the nostalgic show Full House takes you back to the best after school show ever in existence. The same characters as the original keep the show both authentic and interesting. In addition, the show appeals to adults and kids alike, creating an all around crowd favorite for the upcoming season.
7. Grey's Anatomy
This drama filled show makes you feel like you are right along side the doctors, scalpel in hand, ready to save lives. The epic love story of two doctors, along with the drama of surviving residency in one of the top hospitals in the nation makes this a must watch.
8. Gossip Girl
Usually a staple in the world of Netflixing, this one is perfect for anyone entering high school and wanting in on the drama of the most elite teenagers of the Upper East Side. Through romance and suspense, the show has you wondering: who really is Gossip Girl?
9. The Walking Dead
If you enjoy the gore and fear of Halloween, this is the perfect show for you. Between the incredible stage makeup and the down right creepy-realistic acting of the zombies, this show will help you imagine exactly what it would be like with zombies roaming the Earth.
10. Revenge
Based in the New York Hampton's, this suspense filled drama showcases the life of wealthy socialites during the summer. Driven by both rage and passion, a single girl is bound to instill justice on her wronged father.
11. Friends
And of course, last but not least, an old reliable "Friends." A 90s hit and a true classic: a young group of friends share their everyday look at the big bad city of New York. There is nothing better than catching up on old episodes because no mater how many times you rewatch, it never gets old.
