It’s your freshmen year and you’re so excited to be able to live on your own and be independent from your parents. You get to experience everything there is about college and being far away from home, like living in a dorm for example. You’re basically living with strangers for the next year, and let me give you a tip on this one: learn to deal with them. You may not like a lot of them, and that is completely fine. However, you have to live with them all for a year, so get used to it. You’ll meet all different types of people that you’ve never even encountered before. Here is a list I compiled of ten types of people you’ll meet in your college dorm your freshmen year of college.
1. The Crier
We all know that one person who constantly needs to have the attention on them, and to do so they usually find something to cry about. Whether it's over someone eating one of their curly fries or making up and incident that never actually happened then crying about it. We just don't want to hear it anymore.
2. The Pothead
When the whole hallway reeks of weed, it's no surprise of where it's coming from.
3. The Friends with Benefits
Those people who have their person they hook up with on the floor, they're just in it for the sex for when they need that late night booty call. When people ask them what they are or if they're dating, they usually immediately respond with "no!" or "it's complicated."
4. The Couple
There are always those two people who find each other within the first few weeks of the first semester and automatically start up a "
5. The Gym Bro
The kid who is obsessed with the gym and sometimes even goes twice a day. He'll even try to convince others to join him.
6. The One Who Never Goes to Class
There's always that one kid, sometimes even a few of them, where they just don't attend any of their classes. No one knows how they're still here or how they're even passing, but props to them!
7. The One Who Never Gets the Hint
One of the most annoying people you will ever meet. No matter how many times you ignore this person or how many times you're short with them, they still will just not get the hint.
8. The RA
This could go one of two ways.
9. The Night Owl
That one person who is always up at all hours of the night. Whether they're doing homework or just hanging out, it makes you think if this person ever gets any sleep.
10. The Gamer
That one person who is glued to their desk chair playing games the entire time. The only time they leave their computer is to eat and sleep. It makes you wonder if they even go to class.
11. The One Who Never Showers
When you step off the elevator and you smell that stench, you have a feeling where it is coming from. You walk down the hall and as you get closer and closer to that one room who you believe it to be, you realize you were right all along. It has now been three weeks, and that person has yet to shower. Yaaaa nasty!
Although you may seem like you're such good friends with all the people who live on your floor, you'll most likely not talk to them much after the end of your second semester. I mean, let's face it, your only friends because you live together. So enjoy your freshmen year living with all these people, because soon enough you won't live with them and you may actually start to miss it.
Special thanks to Becca Caprio and Katie Mooney for helping out with this one!
