Last week, the world mourned as news spread that Mob Wives’ Star, Angela “Big Ang” Raiola, passed away after a short and courageous battle with stage IV lung and brain cancer. The shocking news stunned the world, as a larger than life person was so abruptly taken from us. Big Ang was only 55 years old, and leaves behind 2 children, and 6 grandchildren, along with millions of fans. Throughout her life, especially her days on VH1’s hit Mob Wives’, Big Ang made people laugh and live life in a different way. There were many instances where what she said really made people think about life and how to live. Along with these were many moments that Big Ang said exactly what everyone else was thinking and wish that we could have said. We were lucky enough to have had Big Ang in our lives for the time she was here, and although we mourn her loss, her memory will live in her fan’s hearts forever. Here are 11 times Big Ang said exactly what we were thinking:
1. On Other People Telling You What to Do
We all have had those times when we are tired of being told what to do. Big Ang said it the best. She was her own boss and made her own rules. She didn't allow other people to tell her what to do, when to do it, how to be happy, etc. She lived her life the way she wanted to, up until the very end. She taught us that we all live our own lives, and it is nobody's job to tell others how to live it.
2. On Other People Thinking They're Better Than Others
She was never afraid to tell people how it was. If she didn't like someone, they knew it, and if she loved someone, they knew it. Nobody was off limits. Surprisingly enough, she didn't have a lot of enemies. Maybe because she told it exactly how it was...
3. On Going to the Gym
It was no surprise that Big Ang didn't like the gym. She was very vocal about it, and instead of doing something that she didn't like, she just didn't do it at all. Instead of waisting time, she spent her life on what she enjoyed. Maybe this is something to try...
4. On Wanting a Drink
Big Ang sure did love her booze and she wasn't afraid to say it. No matter what time of day it was, she was ready for a drink. Whether it was a mimosa or vodka straight up, she was happiest with a drink in her hand.
5. On Social Media
Social media had become such a huge part of life, but most people have a love/hate relationship with it. Ang wasn't one of them; she simply had a hate/ hate relationship with social media, especially Twitter.
6. On Other People's Drama
So many times in life, we are forced to listen to our friend's drama that has absolutely nothing to do with us. Big Ang was no exception. But instead of listening for hours about things that had no relevance to her life, she was straight up from the beginning and didn't want to hear it. Good for her.
7. On Lazy People
Big Ang wasn't about people doing nothing and mooching off others. Instead of sitting on your butt all day, why don't you go get a job and do something with your life instead of wasting it. I'm sure there are many people we all wish we could say this to.
8. On Having Anxiety
There are so many situations in life that make us anxious, and we are taught to ignore the feelings and power through. But not Big Ang. She wasn't afraid to admit how she was feeling, no matter who was around.
9. On Listening to Nonsense
Life is too short (clearly) to listen to nonsense. Instead of listening to it, shut it down. Big Ang did all the time. She wasn't afraid to shut it down.
10. On Loving Yourself
Before you can love anyone else, you have to love yourself. Big Ang showed us how important it was to love ourselves. She loved herself and it showed, which isn't a bad thing. At the end of the day, you only have yourself, so you might as well be happy about it.
11. On Life Itself
Life is so short, so we have to live it right. Big Ang certainly did, and hopefully passed away content and happy about her life. We are never guaranteed tomorrow, so we have to live today right.
The list is endless of times Big Ang said what we all wish we could. Life certainly will not be the same without Big Ang. Thank you for all the great memories and laughs. At last, you are no longer in pain. May you rest in peace, Angela "Big Ang" Raiola.
