Finals are finally over and it's time to go home. You can almost smell the sweet freedom of summer, but first you need to pack and move everything out of your dorm. How you'll ever get it done is a mystery. Here's a few of the thoughts you have while moving out of your dorm.
1. “I’ll just do it later.”
Procrastination is always the first reaction. Why attempt to pack and move all of your possessions now, when you can do it later?
2. “How is everyone else so on the ball?”
You start to notice that everyone else on your hall has already packed most of their things into boxes but, you still have laundry on the floor and old assignments scattered on your desk. Maybe now would be a good time to start packing? Nahh, you need to watch one more episode on Netflix first.
3. “Where did all of this come from?”
When you finally do start packing you find things you had no idea you owned. You thought you only had one pencil left from the year but you just found a whole pack in the back of your desk. That shirt you forgot about has been under your bed for months. Are those shoes yours or your roommate's?
4. “I quit.”
This is taking forever. It will never be done. How do they expect you to move everything you own? You should just watch another episode on Netflix.
5. “Ok. Enough goofing around. Let’s get down to business!”
Time is running out and you need to stop procrastinating. You have to get this done!
6. “I’m going to miss everyone so much!”
What are you going to do without all of your friends? Who will you stay up with you until 3 AM?
7. “I can’t wait to see my family!”
Going home won’t be too bad. When was the last time you saw them all anyway? You didn’t realize how much you missed them.
8. “How will I fit my whole room into my car?”
You have countless boxes, a coffee table, too many clothes and who even knows what else. How are you going to fit your entire room into one car? Well, who needs to see out the windows anyway? And, so what if you need to crouch your head the entire way home?
9. “My. Whole. Body. Hurts.”
Your feet are killing you and your arms feel like noodles. Moving out must count for working out this week, right?
10. “Oh my gosh I did it. How did I do it?”
How in the world you got it all done is a miracle. You never thought this sweet, sweet moment would ever come.
11. “Will this ever end?”
When you’re on your way back home you realize you now have to unpack everything. Then when summer is over, you’ll have to pack it all pack up again. How many more times do you have to do this again? Oh well, you love your school and your friends. The torture of moving is worth it all.
