I'm loud and I'm proud about the fact that I'm a book lover. But you know what I don't like that acts loud? People who think it's okay to interrupt me while I'm having a moment with my book.

Sure, I get it. To those of you who aren't avid readers, you may not see anything wrong with taking this specific moment to sit down and strike up a conversation. But don't worry, it's not like my mind isn't in a totally different world or anything. Please continue; no need to give me a minute or so to finish up this chapter, or at least this sentence.

I mean, I'm not unreasonable; I get that some conversations are urgent and can't wait, especially if they're important ones. But I love my book time. So if you see me or any other fellow book lover with our noses pressed between the pages and a faraway look in our eyes, just let us do our thing. We'll return to reality in due time...or maybe not. But that's our choice, not yours.

If you're a bibliophile, then here are eleven things I'm sure will run through your head when someone tries to interrupt your precious reading time:

11. "This book in my hand MUST be invisible to you. Ha, I always knew books were portable magic!"

5. "Will they notice if I respond to them using only lines from this book?"

4. "I can slowly raise the book to cover my face and use it as a barrier!"

1. "Great. They're gone, and I've managed to lose not only important reading time, but I've also lost my place. Hooray for conversations while reading!"
