Everyone always tells you to say, "No," to this and, "No," to that, but, honestly, if you don't take some chances and say, "Yes," once in a while, you may not get a full life experience. So what if you make a few mistakes? Who doesn't? Take what you can from it and learn. That's life. So here are some things to never say no to!

1. Free samples.

Nothing tastes better than free!

2. When someone tells you that you can pet their dog.

Most of the time, I don't even ask. Dogs are too cute and sweet to not be loved.

3. Hold the baby if asked.

The worst they can do is cry and I think that's just them trying to talk. They won't bite. Well, maybe.

4. Listen to that new artist even if it isn't what you usually listen to.

I never used to listen to rap before college but now, G-Eazy is on every playlist I make.

5. Go check out that club/ organization you're on the fence about.

Just try it out. Clubs and organizations are some of the best ways to meet new people with similar interests. There's nothing wrong about just testing the waters.

6. If that odd guy/girl asks you out, just go on one date.

You never know, they may just be awkward because they're nervous to talk to you. There's nothing wrong with just getting to know one another. You could end up really liking them.

7. Trying a new dish at your favorite restaurant.

I know we all love that one thing and just order it every time but shake it up a little bit. Try something new! Excite your taste buds! Life is too short to have the same plate of pasta.

8. Being something new for Halloween.

Yes, that same black cat costume is adorable but maybe it's time to get more creative or change it up a bit!

9. Getting your photo taken.

Trust me, you're going to want to remember those fun moments with your friends even if it was a bad hair day.

10. Going on spontaneous trips with friends.

Don't think about it too much! Just have fun and go with the flow! Think on the fly, it's a skill that you may need.

11. Hugs

Love makes the world go around. Never underestimate the power of good, tight hug. It can make your day.

Obviously, you can't say, "yes," to everything but take a couple chances and live. You only have one life. Get out of your comfort zone and take on new challenges. Saying, "yes," isn't just about experience, it's about how it shapes you as a person afterwords.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
