11 Things To Do On New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is just days away and is one of the most underrated holidays. New Year's Eve celebrates both the year that took place coming to an end and welcomes the beginning of a new one. There are several things to do for New Year's Eve that your aren't going to want to miss out on this year!

1. Wear a sparkly outfit.

New Year's eve is the only time of the year it is perfectly acceptable for you to leave the house looking like a fashionable disco ball. Everyone loves wearing something that glitters and shines and if you say you don't then we know you are lying! Find something fun to show your personality this night of year.

2. Have dinner and drinks with friends.

Who doesn't love going out to eat and grab drinks? This activity is the perfect way to start your night. You'll already be looking fantastic in your NYE outfit so you might as well get a few extra hours in it to show off.

3. Watch the ball drop.

Nothing else represents the closing of one year and the beginning of another more than this event. If you aren't in NYC and be sure to watch it on television surrounded by friends and family. Don't forget to find someone to give a quick kiss when the clock stikes midnight!

4. Go out.

Whether you go to a bar or a friends party get out and go somewhere. NYE is a great time to mingle. Starting the year out with some of your best friends is a perfect way to welcome the new year.

5. Make a resolution.

It doesn't have to be anything crazy. If you want to make a goal to lose weight feel free, that's awesome but also don't forget you can do light hearted things too, like the year my resolution was to save an entire year of Cosmo magazine so it made the guy on the side.

6. Do something nice for someone.

What better way than to start the year off than giving a gift to others. Not to mention maybe setting a little good karma up for the year that is about to start. Buy someone a drink or meal or just give them a nice complement. Making someone feel good will make you feel good too.

7. Let go.

Some things we need to forget. I'm looking at you girl who is still crying over her boyfriend from three years ago. No one should go into the new year holding onto old baggage. Forget the guy or girl who screwed you over, forget that the delivery guy didn't bring your extra ranch sauce for your pizza. Go into the new year with a clean slate. Turn a new leaf.

8. Learn lessons.

Look back over your last year and evaluate and learn from it. Did you have the best year of your life? Maybe you didn't have too hot of a year. Regardless think about what you can learn from the year and see what you want to bring with you into the new year

9. Be honest.

Be real with yourself and others. Don't lie to yourself or friends about things. You can't have a promising new year is you aren't going to be honest with yourself and with others.

10. Watch fireworks.

No explanation is needed because simply stated, fireworks are the best.

11. Love yourself.

Most importantly love yourself! Take care of yourself. Love yourself and treat yourself.

2016 is sure to be an exciting year. Go out with a bang for 2015 and welcome 2016 with open arms, because what other choice do you have anyway?

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
