Going into sophomore year of college is exciting because you already have one year under your belt. However, there are a lot of things that we don't know. Here is a list of things that I learned this past semester.

1. Never miss a football game

You never know what will happen at a college football game. You could end up rushing the field with your best friends.

2. You might lose some friends, but you'll find even better ones

Of course you're not going to be friends with everyone. It's okay to move on and find people who bring out the best in you.

3. It's better to study with other people

Trust me, it's a lot better to suffer with friends than suffer alone.

4. A cup of coffee a day is okay

I've always been told that it isn't good to have coffee every day. However, when you are running on only a few hours of sleep with classes till six p.m., it can get difficult. You won't regret it.

5. I miss my family more than I thought I would

I found myself FaceTiming my family a lot more than I probably should've. It has made me realize to cherish the moments we have together.

6. It's okay to nap every day

You're a college student! Napping is essential if you want to keep up with your busy schedule.

7. You can always treat yourself

Yes, this does mean you can go to places off-campus for food. Dining hall food can get annoying very quickly, so treat yourself to some nicer options.

8. It's acceptable to cry

College is hard. It's not as easy as some people make it out to be. You're going to want to cry every once in awhile. Do it.

9. Let go of people who don't help you grow

That boy who doesn't make time for you? Drop him. That friend who only needs you when its convenient for them? Drop them.

10. Take a lot of pictures and videos

It's always so fun to go back and look at old pictures and videos of your friends. Whenever you're sad these will definitely cheer you up.

11. Self-care is so important

Make sure you spend time focusing on yourself. There are many people who care about you and are here to support you. It's okay to spend a Friday night alone in your room if you want to.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
