Here are 11 completely relatable moments that every student is guilty of doing at least once throughout their academic career. There are some things that almost everyone does while in school. Tests, homework and school drama have led nearly all students to have experienced these things.

1. When your teacher messes up and you have to forget what you just learned.

We all know that teacher who dives into a lesson, only to later reveal that they made an error. These are the moments when you’re thankful for the extra studious peers who are able to catch the mistakes as soon as or soon after the teacher makes them.

2. Claiming you studied for a test but all you did was cram the night (or class period) before the exam

Just about every student has had their fair share of procrastination when it comes to tests. Whether you were busy working on another classes assignment or you simply forgot to mark the date, many of us have crammed right before a test. You know, those students who end up studying notes during lunch in hopes of memorizing enough of the information in time for the test they have next period.

3. Finishing a project that was supposed to take a week in one night

The teacher assigns the class a project that’s due in a week, which sounds like plenty of time at the moment but proves to go by a lot faster than anticipated. Moments like this are when students are able to prove how quickly they can get those creative juices flowing in order to churn out a presentable project or paper the next day. Though not everyone puts in the same amount of effort when putting together a last-minute project, many of us have been able to save our grades this way (even if it’s not the most efficient).

4. Hiding a snack/gum so no one else notices

Ever taken out a pack of gum in the middle of class? Chance are that if you have you already know that gum is like a magnet in school. Friends and classmates are likely to ask you to cough up the gum and share with them too. The same thing is likely to happen with a bag of candy or an appealing snack. Many students know that unless you have enough for everyone, you may want to keep your tasty treat out of sight for the most part as you’ll likely be asked to share.

5. Undercover texting level: ninja

Even if you are not the type of student to spend excessive amounts of time on your phone every day, you’ve probably had times where the text message just can’t wait. There are multiple reasons why we end up using our phones in class ranging from boring lectures from the teacher, an endless PowerPoint filled with notes or surprising Snapchats that you can’t wait to respond to. With all the distraction harbored within smart phones, it’s no wonder many students have mastered the art of surreptitious texting techniques.

6. Trying to capture anything remotely interesting that happens during school hours on social media

If a fight breaks out in the hallway a lot of people first respond by whipping out their phones in hopes of catching the crazy situation on camera. Apps such as Snapchat and Instagram have become increasingly popular, causing more and more teenagers to devote their time to building up their follower count. School can have a lot of dull moments so when something out of the ordinary finally happens, you can bet that someone will capture the event on their social media.

7. Cooperating with peers to systematically get out of a test or push back a due date

Everyone in the class may not be friends but when it comes to deadline everyone can suddenly manage to come together and fight for a common goal. This is what causes those moments where the class is able to collectively convince the teacher to change the due date for a project or hold off on an exam. Many of us can agree that it’s nice when the class successfully gets the teacher to alleviate the workload a bit (usually due to majority of the class having procrastinated).

8. Saving seats as if your life depends on it

Now you may have gotten past this now, but many of us can remember a time where saving a seat for a friend felt like one of the most crucial things you could be tasked with.

9. Making friends you’ll never forget

You may not remember everyone from previous school years, but there are plenty of notable memories that won’t be forgotten any time soon. School is where students meet most of their best friends who help make weeks filled with testing slightly less stressful and a little more enjoyable.

10. Looking forward to fights (as long as you’re not in them)

Whenever there is rumor or speculation of some sort of altercation breaking out on the school campus most people flock to the scene. No one wants to miss a piece of the action when they know the rest of the school will be talking about it for the whole week.

11. Senioritis

If you haven’t gotten it yet, just wait you will eventually. Ask any senior class if they have senioritis, and majority will tell you the answer is yes. Successfully making it to the final year of school with graduation day in sight is enough to make most students lose track of the present and only see the end goal. Senioritis makes the best of students start to slack off or disregard their assignments because they know in a few months they won’t have to deal with homework any longer.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
